We are seeking a full-time Family Inclusive Practice Development Officer to join our team. This post will develop and deliver a Family Inclusive Practice workforce programme with a focus on practice implementation. The role is funded by the Scottish Government to support delivery of the national Whole Family Approach/ Family Inclusive Practice framework (‘Drug and Alcohol Services – Improving holistic family support’).

The post-holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a new national Family Inclusive Practice workforce programme to external partners, including the alcohol and drug service workforce. The programme aims to embed new practices in alcohol and drug services to allow services to effectively implement new ways of working with clients and their families in line with national policy commitments for families affected by drug and alcohol use in Scotland. The role will also design, deliver and evaluate learning and development activities, including Scottish Families current programme of workforce learning & development; develop and create e-learning including writing content; gather learning from the delivery of the Family Inclusive Practice programme to develop and create Family Inclusive Practice implementation kit; and develop a clear and meaningful national definition of Family Inclusive Practice.

The post is based at Edward House, Glasgow – Scottish Families’ national office. (Note that staff are currently working between home and office). The is a national post which includes travel across Scotland to deliver learning and development activities. Hours worked will be in line with delivery requirements, including evenings and occasional weekends when required. This post will be part of Scottish Families’ staff team and be supervised by the Head of Programmes.

We are seeking applicants with a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent professional qualification/ experience, with experience as a learning and development facilitator/trainer, including online and face to face delivery, developing learning content and designing training programmes. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of best practice underpinning effective learning and development activities, and the impact of substance use on families, as well as a high level of presenting skill and the ability to create innovative and engaging content. Strong relationship-building and organisational skills are essential.
