We are looking for a Community & Fundraising Officer to kickstart a new fundraising approach within the Miracle Foundation SCIO

Imagine being a part of an organisation whose common purpose is to support Children and Young People throughout Lanarkshire who have been impacted by grief, loss, and trauma.

This is a new role within the organisation for an individual to grow and build upon as they progress and make their own.

The Community & Fundraising Officer will be a passionate individual who wants to raise funds and awareness for our amazing work in Bereavement and Trauma support. The organisation has begun building a portfolio of income streams that currently include trusts and grants, fundraising events and activities and individual giving. The Community & Fundraising Officer will work on creating a more diverse portfolio of income streams by building upon existing streams and creating new ones such as community giving, legacies, company sponsorships and major gifts.

How will you make a difference:

  • I develop and deliver compelling fundraising engagement plans for event participants to drive fundraising and increase community engagement with the charity.
  • I am the first point of contact for individuals contacting The Miracle Foundation regarding fundraising and volunteering enquiries.
  • I will assist in the writing and submission of small to medium funding applications.
  • I am responsible for organising and ensuring fundraisers and volunteers who have agreed to support the charity and assisted in their efforts and receive the utmost support and care during their efforts.
  • I manage and support the creation, running and engagement of small to major fundraising events organised internally or externally with the organisation.
  • I liaise with staff and volunteers to develop teams and responsibilities for events and activities.
  • Working with media and marketing colleagues or contracted staff, I create compelling fundraising engagement messages, including stories about our team, people being supported by the Miracle Foundation and projects that our volunteers and supporters are funding.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • has relevant educational qualifications and/or significant experience in fundraising and/or funding applications.
  • The ability to engage with volunteers and staff in the Third Sector and Public Sector.
  • The ability to produce written reports.
  • Is IT literate with good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office applications and online databases.
  • Has knowledge and experience of planning, target setting, monitoring and evaluation.
  • the ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive attitude.
  • has good time management.
