Role

We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of The Church of Scotland, Faith Action Mission Support Team in its work with Priority Areas – these are communities across Scotland which are ranked the highest for deprivation.

This post, which will be based in our Glasgow office, will lead on the development and evaluation of programmes designed to support the network of Priority Area congregations, presbyteries and the wider Church in its mission to be with our poorest communities.

The postholder will lead on promoting and disseminating the experience from the work of Priority Areas out to the wider church, ecumenical partners and other agencies in order that the learning can be shared and replicated.

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the issues relating to poverty and their relevance to the mission of the Church. Displaying a wide range of strong leadership and communication skills, the postholder will also have a proven track record in planning and organising to meet the demands of a complex environment, delivering work to deadlines and within budget.

The successful candidate is required to be a committed Christian with a live Church connection, which is a Genuine Occupational Requirement in terms of the Equality Act 2010.
