About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with us as an Engagement Coordinator working as part of the Places for Everyone Services team where you will play an will support funded partners to deliver effective and inclusive community engagement and behaviour change activity, enabling the creation of well designed, well used and accessible active travel infrastructure.
As the Engagement Coordinator, you will bring your practical community-based expertise and experience into this advisory and support role. You will have the confidence to share knowledge and good practice to improve the quality of Places for Everyone projects to improve walking, wheeling and cycling infrastructure for all.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
This role may require occasional working at weekends and/or evenings to support the delivery of events.
About you
You should have experience of partnership working and relationship building with a range of internal and external key persons and experience of community engagement in diverse settings.
This role has the potential to have line management responsibilities so you will a desire to or experience in line management, and experience in delivering practical projects which lead to behaviour change.
We ask you demonstrate your knowledge of Equality Act 2010 and the Equality Impact Assessments, your strong oral and written communication skills, project management and reporting.

Getting Better Together Ltd (GBT) is a community centred health initiative which was established in 2000 with the aim of promoting the health & wellbeing of residents living in North Lanarkshire including the Fortissat Ward, Shotts, Springhill, Dykehead, Stane, Torbothie, Harthill, Eastfield, Salsburgh, Allanton/Hartwood.At the heart of Shotts, GBT's Healthy Living Centre was established twenty-three years ago.

We now have vacancy for a full time (35 Hrs) Cycle Development Officer. The main aim of the role is to oversee and develop the Trackside Bikes at GBT. This programme includes a range of cycling services within our Trackside Bike shop including bike repairs, services, loans, and educational offerings.
Acting as an ambassador for cycling and active travel in North Lanarkshire you will work closely with the staff team, GBT, key local stakeholders and the wider community to promote the benefits of cycling.
We are looking for a HR Coordinator to work as part of the HR team and wider support services to provide a professional and customer focussed HR operational service across the colleague lifecycle in line with Scottish Wildlife Trust’s policies, procedures and values.
You will provide first level HR advice to managers and staff on all aspects of HR Management, Employment Law and the Trust's policies and procedures.
You will also be responsible for preparing payroll instructions for our outsourced payroll provider as well as liaising with our pension provider.
Qualifications / Essential Criteria
- Partially completed or working towards a CIPD qualification
Essential Experience
- Proven experience of working in a busy office in an HR environment, where the following experience will have been gained:
- Managing payroll, pensions and calculating staff entitlements and benefits
- Managing computerised HR database and other office systems and using them to collate and analyse data
- Providing quality first-level HR advice and knowing when to escalate

Your role
The role holder will be expected to be an exemplar for the values of CHS including listening to and valuing the voice of children and young people, the contribution of volunteers, and ensuring a respected, quality based, and sustainable tribunal system is delivered on behalf of the National Convenor.
Reporting to the Director of Tribunal Delivery, the Regional Tribunal Delivery Manager is a Senior Manager post responsible for one of 9 regions across Scotland. You will lead and manage a team of staff and volunteers to deliver the National Conveners statutory duties for the provision of Children’s Hearings across a dedicated region in Scotland to a consistent high quality standard.
You will be joining CHS at a pivotal point. Alongside the team of Regional Tribunal Delivery Managers, your Partnership and Wellbeing Coordinators and Area Support volunteers you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our volunteer communities are effectively supported to continue to embed our regional tribunal support model; implementation of the Children’s Care & Justice Act and future Hearings for Children reforms.
The core purpose of this role will be to provide, management and support to the regional team members (including volunteers) to deliver the National Conveners statutory duties around the provision of Children’s Hearings across a dedicated region in Scotland. The role holder will be key to managing the relationship(s) between Tribunal Members who are volunteers and the organisation more broadly.
The role holder will share collective responsibility for delivering organisational objectives, through active engagement and collaboration with colleagues at all levels in the organisation;

You will be an effective leader, demonstrating your ability to lead and motivate high performing teams including volunteers. You will have experience of guiding and supporting others through continuous improvement projects; having the willingness and ability to enable changes to take place in the most productive way.

At Children’s Hearings Scotland, our highly trained Panel Members make decisions for Scotland’s unique Children’s Hearings System that upholds and promotes the rights of infants, children and young people. Our 2,500 volunteer Panel Members take part in children’s hearings in their local areas, making decisions with and for infants, children and young people.
