Who we are:
The ICAS Foundation is an independent Charity working in close partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) to deliver equality, diversity and inclusion amongst its members. Over the last 10 years the ICAS Foundation has awarded over £2m in funding to support university students studying accountancy and finance. Each year we help around 100 students studying at universities across Scotland and England, taking on around 35 new Scholars every year and supporting them for up to 4 years through their time at university.
Our primary aim is to support academically talented young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds to study accountancy or a finance-related degree. This is achieved through a financial bursary, a mentoring scheme and support in finding relevant internships and graduate jobs.
What the job is:
The main areas of work will focus on assisting with diary management, meeting set up and minuting of meetings, collation of information and data input. The role will process data using Excel and our database Salesforce (training provided) collating and processing information for volunteers and students.
The role will be expected to process student bursary applications and process grant applications from students. Using our student management tools, the role will track conditions of funding are being met by students and coordinate updates from our mentors, students, and alumni throughout the year.
Support for various fundraising initiatives will also be part of the role, supporting events, administering donations, and attending events to raise the profile and income of the charity.
This work will contribute to ensuring that the charity can continue to support young people from lower socio-economic and diverse backgrounds across the UK fulfil their ambition of attending university and having a wider range of career options available to them, including becoming a Chartered Accountant.
Who we need:
We are looking for an experienced and organised administrator, ideally with experience of working in a charitable organisation, however we are open to a variety of work experience that could be transferable to promote and drive the great work of the ICAS Foundation.
The work of the Foundation is all about making a difference, is rewarding, varied and at times challenging. We are looking for someone who enjoys engaging with others, in a fast paced and varied role.
You’ll have strong organisational skills, administrative and IT skills to support the Foundations many charity activities, our bursary and funding process and engagement with our volunteer mentor applications and the administration of the end-to-end process. You’ll have excellent time management skills and enjoy and be comfortable managing multiple prioritises, stakeholders, managing diaries, scheduling, and coordinating external meetings and events.
We are a small team, at times with all hands to the pump so you should thrive on the excitement and fun that working closely with colleagues can bring.
