Do you want to be part of an incredible advanced nurse practitioner team delivering paediatric palliative care in CHAS?
An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual, passionate about palliative care, to join our committed and welcoming team. We are seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) who can autonomously assess, prescribe and evaluate care for children with complex needs.
Working within a supportive team comprising of ANPs, doctors, independent prescribers and a lead specialist pharmacist you will play a key role in the care of children across Scotland with palliative care needs through excellent multi-agency working with colleagues in other settings across Scotland.
The day-to-day work involves being part of a CHAS multidisciplinary team, providing leadership and assisting in coordinating the provision of comprehensive holistic evidence based advanced nursing care to children resident in our hospices.
CHAS does not hold clinical responsibility for children who are not resident at a CHAS hospice. However, increasingly families are being offered choices of place of care at end of life and CHAS may be part of that support. You will have the opportunity to be part of a collaborative team around the child approach.
ANPs have been part of our clinical team since 2017. This unique blend of advanced nursing and medical care has enhanced the support for children with very complex medical conditions and has given them increased access to paediatric palliative care.
We are committed to growing and developing the team and currently have nurses completing the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice program and are in the process of recruiting more nurses to commence the course in January 2023. You will have the opportunity to act as an assigned supervisor of practice for trainees and offer objective assessment of the practitioner’s attainment of knowledge, skill and critical development, which is pertinent to Advanced Clinical Practice.

About the role
Myeloma UK is embarking on an ambitious five-year income generation strategy, which aims to increase income from £5m to £10m by 2028. This position will play a critical role, working alongside the Head of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships to lead income generation from major trusts, foundations, and grant funders and secure 5-6 figure grants for a range of innovative and life changing programmes – including patient and family support, research and advocacy. This role is also responsible for managing the Trusts and Grants Officer, who delivers our small trusts and grants programme.
Our major trusts and grants programme is at an early stage of development and this role offers the opportunity to build the foundations and significantly grow this income stream. It will involve working across the charity to identify fundraising priorities and co-create projects and will involve all aspects of cultivation – from research to relationship building with key prospects, through to preparing compelling proposals.
This is an exciting time to join Myeloma UK, with a new organisational strategy, a new fundraising strategy, alongside investment in fundraising, creating the opportunity to significantly grow income. We are looking for someone who can build and shape the programme, as well as deliver an increase in income.
About you
We are looking for an ambitious trusts and grants fundraiser with experience of raising 5-6 figure gifts from a range of UK trusts, foundations and grant-making organisations. You will be a strategic thinker, who is ready to lead and implement our trusts and grants strategy alongside the Head of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships.
Strong relationship management skills are a must, as this role involves working collaboratively with a range of colleagues to identify fundraising projects and develop project concepts and proposals. We have a committed Trustee board and there is an opportunity to work with them, and other senior volunteers and donors to leverage opportunities within their networks. We need someone who is comfortable working at this level with the ability to build long-term cultivation strategies.
You will also need exceptional writing skills, with the ability to understand complex scientific information and translate it to a range of audiences. We need someone who can communicate the significant impact of our work and inspire funders to work with us.
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Support Care Team in Glasgow to provide our donors and fundraisers with excellent supporter care.
You will have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in supporter care/customer service, and you will have experience of inputting data and general use of databases.
Your responsibilities
- Deliver excellent supporter care and stewardship journeys to our donors, fundraisers and event participants through effective communication via inbound/outbound calls and e-mails.
- Identify opportunities to steward and maximise the lifetime value of supporters.
- Ensure accurate banking and recording of all donations to Maggie's, including processing income from a variety of online fundraising platforms to ensure funds are attributed to the correct donors.
- Ensuring mailing preferences are applied to donors' records on our database.
- Manage and respond to a wide range of enquiries from supporters, people with cancer and their friends and family, volunteers, centre fundraising staff and third-party suppliers.

The Community and Events Fundraiser role at MND Scotland exists to provide outstanding supporter care whilst maximising income to deliver the charity’s mission. You will support and develop our bespoke events programme and drive participation in third-party events. You will also encourage and enable community fundraising and supporter led activities across Scotland. Alongside this, you will play an active role in developing our supporter journeys and maintaining and utilising financial and supporter data to improve and develop our fundraising offer.
As an ambassador for MND Scotland, and a first point of contact for many supporters, you will be a confident communicator with a passion for working with people throughout the community. You will be highly organised, and able to run projects on time and on budget.
