The Service
The role will be instrumental in the continued development of our training academy for young people and adults who experience complex and multiple barriers to reaching their full potential. Last year we support 238 learners with 100% of those that we worked with being more confident, 83% gaining qualifications and 77% reaching a positive destination,.
The Job
We are recruiting an experienced and dynamic Youth Worker to join our amazing team of trainers and youth workers. The post will help deliver our school and 16 + learning programmes.
Our employability and life skills programmes provide longer-term, holistic support for disadvantaged young people, aged 16 to 24, in West Lothian and surrounding council areas with the most severe, multiple and complex barriers to reaching their full potential, supporting them to engage with education, employment and training. We are a small, friendly can do team and we are sometimes all hands on deck, so you need to be flexible and willing to contribute to the success of the whole organisation.
The Youth worker will be will be responsible for planning and delivery of the programmes, recruitment, fostering positive partnerships with participants, colleagues and a range of organisations to offer a whole support and learning package. The role will include supporting improved Mental Health & Wellbeing, Youth Issues, and attainment, helping young people to develop personally, socially, and educationally.
The post holder will work with young people on a one-to-one basis and in a group work setting in a face-to-face environment, responding to the needs of each participant to enable them to reach their full potential, based on equality and respect for each other.
This post is subject to Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme registration. The Larder will meet the cost of any new PVG scheme membership or scheme record update.
The role is full time position but we would consider part time and/or flexible working. We have a fantastic facility to deliver training and the team to help you become part of The Larder family. Core hours are Monday - Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm but you may be required to work alternative hours, including evenings and weekends. You will have 29 days annual leave per year, inclusive of public holidays.
