Role

Erskine is a high impact social care organisation which is seeking suitable applicants for the post of Financial Planning and Analysis Manager (FPA Manager).

As Erskine begins evolves in response to the unmet needs of Veterans in Scotland, the organisation is expanding its finance function, with a FPA Manager to lead financial planning and analysis activities across all of our operations. You will be a key member of the Senior Management Team based in our Bishopton Head office (and optionally, from home on a hybrid basis) supporting Management to make key decisions which are facing the organisation.

Your new role

Reporting to the Director of Strategic (Finance and Business) Planning, the post is responsible for developing the financial and operational information which is needed for the organisation to make key decisions.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Financial planning - Create and develop complex financial models which will address the impact of potential operational decisions and strategic initiatives (including Annual budget and Workforce planning)
  • Efficiencies - Work closely with the DSFBP to design and implement program of optimisation and efficiencies
  • Financial reporting and forecasting system – Working closely with the existing finance team including the Head of Finance, lead on the design and implementation of a system of financial reporting for budget monitoring and forecasting.
  • Financial forecasting - Lead on the quarterly forecasting processes for allocated business units, including providing analysis and commentary for the Executive and Senior Management Teams.
  • Key performance indicators - Support development of KPI reporting processes and procedures, alongside reporting and analysis of key trends.
  • Communication – Ensuring the wider organisation has a solid understanding of the financial objectives and the challenges and risks connected to these objectives through engagement with Budget holders, Managers and Directors.

What you’ll need to succeed

If you are energetic and commercially focused, hold a professional accountancy qualification and are looking for career progression, this could be the position for you.

Essential skills & experience required

  • Hold a professional accountancy qualification – CA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong and confident communicator, with ability to engage with Senior Management and key stakeholders.

It would be desirable, but not essential, that candidates have experience of working with Budgeting or forecasting software (Vena / Planful or equivalent).
