We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic recruiter to join our in house Resourcing team. You will manage a varied portfolio of roles across the UK, from Active Travel Officers, based in schools to encourage a new generation to be more active, to IT and Engineering roles who ensure we have the internal and external infrastructures there to support our projects.
In this role, you will engage with hiring managers, giving expert advice on the best recruitment and advertising approaches to secure the best and most diverse talent; write engaging adverts which are placed in the best locations to attract a diverse talent pool, ensuring our roles are as accessible and visible as possible to everyone and communicate with external partners including advertising providers.
You will work closely with our Resourcing Administrators to ensure clear and compelling adverts are created and posted in line with internal SLA’s and procedures.
We offer flexible working patterns, and are open to discussing part time or compressed hours to suit individual circumstances. As UK wide recruitment for the charity is in the remit of this role, hybrid working is available with office hubs available in a number of Cities across the UK.
This role will require minimal travel. Candidates can be based anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel expected to Bristol for wider HR team meetings where an overnight stay may be required.
About you
You must have recruiting experience, either in an agency or in-house setting with current UK job market knowledge. It is your recruitment knowledge that is essential, not the sectors you have recruited in as in this role you will be much more generalist in your remit at Sustrans. Ideally you will have some experience in recruiting for technical roles and have a good network with knowledge of the candidate landscape.
You will build relationships with ease and communicate effectively, enabling you to both advise hiring managers at briefing meetings, and write engaging content for adverts.
You should have a consultative approach to dealing with hiring managers; easily communicating your expert knowledge, sharing information around costings, networking and the most effective recruitment approach while working with them to give realistic timelines.
A good knowledge of current UKVI guidelines around sponsorship and experience in interview skills training or supporting managers with relevant documents would be advantageous, but it is not essential.
We aim to be a truly inclusive employer and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, in particular from under-represented groups. Sustrans is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity and enabling inclusion.
What we offer
In return we can offer ongoing working from home (or a nearby Sustrans office when it’s safe to do so) and a truly flexible, supportive and rewarding working environment.
