Housing First is a model of helping people who are homeless and who have multiple and enduring support needs. The
model operates using a number of principles, including people’s rights to a stable home that is without
conditions, and flexible support that can vary in intensity and duration and is based on people’s strength,
goals and aspirations. The successful post holder will work as part of a team to provide flexible and creative
support to vulnerable people to identify and access suitable accommodation and live independently in their
chosen community.

knowledge of the service user group and the multiple and complex needs faced by many Housing First tenants. We
would welcome applicants with lived experience of these issues.
We are committed to helping our employees flourish personally and professionally. Below are a few examples of the
ways we support our employees.

adoption.
- Bethany operates a company pension scheme to which all staff are auto-enrolled, with option to
opt out. We will match any staff member’s pension contribution up to a maximum of 5%.

death in service benefit scheme.

equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a ‘Housing Support Worker’ is desirable coupled with experience
of working with vulnerable and homeless people.
There is also an Occupational Requirement in terms of the Equality Act that the post be filled by a female, given the
requirement to provide support to people where a female practitioner is requested and required, and the need for
an additional female practitioners on the team to enable that support to be provided.
As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010.
Please note that one reference must be from your church minister or leader to endorse your live and active
Christian faith and commitment. Successful applicants for this post will require membership of the PVG scheme
and registration with the SSSC.
