Role

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Network Engagement Project Officer to join our Scotland Volunteer team. Reporting to the Network Engagement Coordinator (Volunteering) and working closely with the Network Development team, you will be supporting the delivery of the Love Your Network grants across Scotland.

Through the Love Your Network grant fund, you will be encouraging and facilitating community group involvement in maintaining and enhancing the National Cycle Network.

You will be facilitating neighbourhood organisations to help them realise their potential for promoting and maintaining their local routes. You will achieve this by providing in-person support – visiting, listening, providing advice, and signposting these groups to other opportunities.

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and a base in a nearby office hub in Edinburgh and Glasgow. You will also travel regularly, including occasional overnights stays.

About you

As a natural community facilitator, you will have the ability to build partner relationships at all levels with ease and have experience of delivering projects in a community setting.

With a proactive approach, you will be skilled in prioritising complex and varied workloads.

We will look for evidence of your experience in supporting volunteers, as well as knowledge of active sustainable travel.

We aim to be a truly inclusive employer and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, in particular from under-represented groups.

Sustrans has a long-term commitment to being a charity for everyone - reducing inequality, valuing diversity, enabling inclusion and ensuring all people are treated with dignity & respect.
