About the role

Our Dunedin Harbour Hostel in Edinburgh provides temporary accommodation to individuals who find themselves homeless. Our dedicated staff provide 24-hour support to help residents, with a range of needs, to develop independent living skills to enable them to sustain future accommodation.

We now have a great opportunity for Relief Project Workers to join our team to provide shift cover at Dunedin Harbour.

Who are we looking for?

Candidates must be able to identify and assess support needs with service users to agree an appropriate support and resettlement plan – continually monitoring and reviewing all support planning using the Outcome Star.

You must be able to deal with any incidents involving service users and work with appropriate third parties when required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of service users and staff.

Successful candidates must have the ability to take decisions based on Dunedin Harbours policies and procedures.

We would like to hear from candidates with experience of working in a similar post or be able to demonstrate ability to work at the relevant level.

Please note a PVG check will be carried out on successful candidates. In addition, all successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within six months of starting in post.

As part of Wheatley Group, we offer a sector-leading benefits package.

The successful candidate will receive:

  • excellent leave entitlements;
  • enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave;
  • contributions towards dental, optical, driving lessons and more;
