Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease many people have never heard of and for which there is no known cure. Because of the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding these diseases, thousands of people are suffering in silence. But we’re here to support and champion their cause and our new ambitious plans will help to make a real difference.
The role
In this exciting new role, you would work collaboratively with colleagues at the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), supporting the development of their consensus guidelines on the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). You’ll champion and facilitate authentic and impactful patient involvement and lead the development of resources for patients to communicate key information from the consensus guidelines.
Collaboration is at the heart of our approach. As part of the Knowledge and Information Team, you'll work on award-winning patient information. This includes our evidence-based printed publications, web content, research summaries, videos and other digital materials, to support and empower everyone affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.
Occasional early morning and late evening work will be required.
About you
Are you experienced facilitating meaningful patient involvement and producing patient information that is evidence-based, accessible and engaging?
As our ideal candidate, you have significant experience in co-production, user involvement and user testing. You’re skilled at translating complex research into engaging and accessible content. Your interpersonal skills enable you build influential relationships and collaboration is at the heart of your approach. You have excellent communication skills and are calm, consistent and committed to the values of Crohn’s & Colitis UK.

Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail but many of our staff work very effectively from home. In this role, there is plenty of scope for doing that. There will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings. This includes a 2 day in-person event on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 November 2023 and 4 All Staff Together days a year. It is possible you could live almost anywhere in the UK. If you want to be considered for the role but are worried about location, talk to us - it may work.
