The Role
We are seeking an energetic and creative Engagement Lead, with experience of working within the sports and physical
activity sector, to oversee and drive progress in two related business areas: Engagement and People.
By Engagement we mean, how we get, keep and grow our relationships with users, participants, partners and customers.
We want to develop our engagement plans at two levels:
- Strategic engagement - how we get, keep and grow strategic partners, funders and customers.
- Operational
engagement - how we get, keep and grow those who are using our platform and participating in our
training.
The People part of the job relates to leading and supporting a small team of excellent staff with a varied skill set
in marketing, digital development and content production.
The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of the sport and PA sector in Scotland, experience of managing a team
and have a track record of implementing exciting and effective engagement plans and activities.
Engagement
- Lead the development of updated Operational Engagement Plans that support recruitment and retention of users,
participants and customers of Actify’s programmes (Actify platform and
Active Play Training).
- Work with the senior management
team to develop and implement new Strategic Engagement Plans that support business development and
growth.
- Support staff to implement relevant tools and systems that support enable the effective delivery
of Engagement activity.
- Help to develop relationships with new and existing partners and
customers
- Support the process of evaluation, identifying key learning and related areas for
improvement.
People
- Support and manage the small team responsible for the implementation of the updated Engagement
Plans.
- Work with senior management on the development of staff policies and procedures.
- Support
the implementation of updated staff policies and procedures.
- Assist with the planning of staff
development and training opportunities.
What skills and experience should you have?
Essential skills and experience:
- A qualification in a relevant subject such as business management, business development or
marketing.
- Good knowledge of the sports and physical activity sector in Scotland.
- Experience of
helping to establish and grow new services/ products/ programmes/ business areas.
- Experience of
developing, implementing and evaluating marketing plans.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to
detail.
- Experience of managing a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and
verbal.
- Confident using a range of digital tools to communicate and manage
projects.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a
team.
- A genuine interest in Actify’s mission and values.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Knowledge, experience and/or interest in digital technology
- Knowledge of Google mail, Calendar and
Drive.
- Knowledge of CRM systems
- An interest in data driven decision making
- Experience of
evaluation
