Role

Children in Scotland is excited to be recruiting for a new Senior Policy, Projects and Participation Officer. The candidate will play an important part in our Policy, Project and Participation Department working on a diverse range of projects and policy issues, including leading key elements of our direct participation and engagement programme.

About the role

You will be involved in project development and delivery, direct participation work with children and young people, and influencing national policy and legislation to improve children’s lives.

We are looking for someone who has strong knowledge of children’s rights and the Scottish policy landscape, experience of direct work with children and young people with significant support needs, and experience of project management and development. One important project this role will support (alongside the project manager) is the Suicide Prevention Youth Advisory Group.

About Children in Scotland

Giving all children in Scotland an equal chance to flourish is at the heart of everything we do.

By bringing together a network of people working with and for children, alongside children and young people themselves, we offer a broad, balanced and independent voice. We create solutions, provide support and develop positive change across all areas affecting children in Scotland. We do this by listening, gathering evidence, and applying and sharing our learning, while always working to uphold children’s rights.
