Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive, values based Project Assistant with a can do attitude for a new role in our Community Wellbeing Programme. We need someone who can work sensitively and effectively alongside local people, colleagues, volunteers and partners. This is a great job for someone who loves to be busy with no two days ever the same. We are looking for a team member who enjoys meeting people, and is willing to contribute to a wide range of practical and administrative tasks.
Place of work and flexibility
This job is based in Pilton Community Health Project. We have a Flexible Working protocol and we are keen to support family/caring responsibilities work patterns where possible. This role is open to job share applications.

Youth Volunteer Coordinator

We have started a new youth peer education project which involves recruiting and training young people on current health issues enabling them to run harm reduction workshops for their peers.
The coordinator will be organising all aspects of volunteering from recruiting young volunteers (ages 14 and up), arranging training/workshops and timetables of activities and communicate frequently with the volunteers. We seek someone with strong administrative, organisational and communication skills. As well as being warm, caring and friendly we want someone how is passionate about engaging with young people and fostering their participation in this project.

We are looking for an experienced and multi skilled handyperson to take on the role of caretaking and gardening maintenance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the smooth running and maintenance of our business park site and community greening projects.
We want applicants with the highest standards of workmanship who have a ‘can do attitude’, are diligent, reliable, well presented, professional, organised, efficient and a good communicator.
The chosen candidate will be confident in their own knowledge of what requirements are needed to ensure that the buildings and sites are compliant with all health and safety regulations. They will also be able to take the initiative to monitor what jobs need to be completed and prioritise them accordingly.
The main place of work will be Rosemount Business Park, 141 Charles Street, G21 2QA but you will also work externally, maintaining our community greening projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to join North Uist Development Company (NUDC) and UistWind (North Uist Development Company Trading Limited) to act as a catalyst for innovative and sustainable community development and for successful operational management of the North Uist community-owned wind farm – UistWind.
UistWind has been operational since 2019 and we are pleased to have reached a point in the project to be able to fund this joint position in preparation for the first North Uist Community Benefit Fund.
The successful candidate will work with the UistWind Management Committee, its members and associated parties, to manage the Community Benefit Society’s operational business needs, meeting compliance requirements while working to maximise generation and revenue from two 900kW wind turbines at Criongrabhal near Clachan-na-Luib in North Uist for the benefit of the local community. The successful candidate will also work with NUDC and the wider community, to develop and implement both a community development plan, and a community investment plan for the UistWind community benefit fund, which takes account of opportunities to enhance the socio-economic, cultural and environmental welfare of the North Uist and Berneray area.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking to recruit an energetic and self-motivated individual, with a strong commitment to community development and community ownership. You will have experience of partnership working, especially with community groups and associated stakeholders, and of working with and supporting voluntary trustees. You will also have excellent communication, coordination and facilitation skills, alongside attention to detail and demonstrable ability to understand, utilise and interpret complex technical and financial information.
