Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a 2 year position with one of Scotland’s longest established community controlled housing associations, within our Community Initiatives Team. We are a forward thinking, friendly and responsive organisation where we focus on quality, helping others and service improvement.

We are seeking a motivated, organised individual who will demonstrate effective communication with the public, colleagues and external agencies, to inspire sustainable development within the community.

Our Outdoor Activity and Well-being Officer role is funded through the National Lottery Community Fund for 2 years and will focus on increasing awareness, engagement and participation of the residents and community at two of our green spaces in Cardonald, through a sustainable programme of activities and events.

We have a well-established range of community programmes which are offered within our neighbourhoods. These range from supporting health and well-being, tackling poverty and supporting partner organisations to deliver their work. In addition we have developed our investment in communities through large scale green infrastructure at the Halfway Community Park and work is almost complete on a similar scale project at Queensland Court and Gardens. The Outdoor Activity and Well-being Officer will focus on these 2 areas to support and complement the range of community programmes we deliver.

The role offers an excellent opportunity for progressive, innovative and creative working, built around volunteering and partnership working. It’s also a chance to gain professional growth within a supportive team and organisation and comes with a competitive benefits package.

The post holder will have an appreciation of the great outdoors, come rain or shine! They will be creative and flexible in their approach to adapting to the needs of the community and will build a programme that will have a positive and lasting effect on the community of Cardonald.

A PVG Check will be requested for the successful applicant.
