What we do
The Think Positive project supports 86% of all colleges, universities and students’ associations in Scotland to develop and promote their mental health support offer. The project has the opportunity to positively impact 499,370+ students in 2022-2023.
Within our small Think Positive team we host a range of exciting projects and activities, including the Student Mental Health Agreement project, Think Positive Hub & The Forum.
The overall direction of the project is guided by our project outcomes, project advisory group and feedback from project participants.
Ultimately, we want to ensure that student mental health needs are better supported and promoted in further and higher education. As the Scottish Government’s key partner on student mental health, we have the opportunity to help shape what the future landscape looks like for students in Scotland!
It’s a very exciting time to join the team as more institutions and students’ associations are taking part in our projects than ever before. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to shape and deliver a variety of working areas.
What we need
NUS Charity is looking for a Think Positive Project Consultant to provide high quality consultancy services to colleges, universities and students’ associations across Scotland, as well as strengthen the projects that we deliver.
We’re looking for someone with experience in project design and delivery, who has worked or volunteered with projects/services that support mental health and wellbeing and is able to build strong relationships with externals. Excellent communication and presentation skills will also be especially valued.
This role is Homebased, working from the Edinburgh office with the rest of the team on average once per month.
Committed to Inclusion
We’re committed to equality of opportunity for all. We welcome applications from individuals regardless of their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, gender, or disability. You can be yourself here whoever you are, be proud of the work you do and build a career in a place that knows different is good.
We recognise that candidates from Black, Asian and Minoritised-Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds are under-represented in our organisation, and that there are often additional barriers present for people from these groups when applying for roles in the charity sector and beyond. We are committed to taking positive action to expand the diversity of our staff team, and if you meet the minimum criteria for a role (at least 80% of the criteria in the person specification) and are from a BAME background, you'll be guaranteed a first stage interview. It is important to note that this scheme guarantees an interview for candidates who meet the minimum criteria and tell us that they'd like to be considered under the scheme. The selection decision at interview will be based on the most suitable candidate, regardless of any protected characteristic.
