Are you passionate about ensuring the voices of experts by experience impacted by immigration policy play a key role in informing and influencing policy in Scotland?
Do you have experience of facilitating groups with communities impacted by destitution and no recourse to public funds?
Govan Community Project is recruiting a group coordinator to support the development of an inclusive forum which will involve experts by experience in working with the Scottish Government in the evaluation of the impact/effectiveness of the Scottish Government’s Ending Destitution Together Strategy.
You will be responsible for coordinating group activities which will create a safe, enquiring space to empower individuals with lived experience of NRPF to participate in focus groups and workshops with representatives from Scottish Government and COSLA. Your role will involve facilitating group meetings, identifying personal development needs of group members, coproducing workshops and materials and ensuring practical and wellbeing support is in place to mitigate barriers to participation for group members.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of facilitating groups, as well as experience of working with members of the communities impacted by no recourse to public funds, including but not exclusively members of the asylum and refugee community. You will ideally have knowledge of the significant impact of destitution caused by NRPF policy and be able to take a trauma informed approach to groupwork.
We would particularly encourage applications from individuals with lived experience of the impact of no recourse to public funds.
This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant, dedicated team working in a diverse community.
Govan Community Project is wholly committed to inclusion and diversity and to building a culture and environment where everyone is appreciated for the unique person they are. We warmly welcome applications from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, with the right skills for the role and would particularly welcome applications from individuals from the refugee community.
