Role

Are you passionate about making a real and positive difference to people’s lives and their communities?

Would you like to play a part in shaping the future of social housing in Scotland?

If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Home Scotland is looking for up to three new Board Members to join our Home Scotland Board, to bring varied viewpoints, skills and experience to support and enrich our work.

Home Scotland is an established and respected housing association with a strong mission and social purpose. We operate and manage more than 5000 homes in Scotland, supporting around 15000 customers. We have a strong presence in Dundee, Glasgow, Dumfries and Galloway, and Edinburgh as well as properties in Fife and West Lothian.

We have a long and proud track record of developing and investing in social housing in Scotland and are part of Home Group, one of the UK’s largest providers of housing, care and support.

Home Scotland has a dedicated Board who set the strategic direction and oversee the operation of our services in Scotland. We are regulated by the Scottish Housing Regulator and the Home Scotland Board is responsible for ensuring we comply fully with our regulatory and statutory obligations.

We have agreed our strategic priorities for the coming years and are now focussed on realising our ambition to enhance the services and support we provide to our customers and communities; develop and invest in new homes, and contribute to Scotland’s journey to net zero.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a part in the leadership and governance of Home Scotland as we take forward ambitious plans for the future.

We encourage diversity of thought and experience on our board and are keen to hear from people from a range of backgrounds and experiences who share our values and want to make a difference.

At this time, we are particularly, though not exclusively, interested to hear from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Community support and development
  • Environmental sustainability and net zero
  • Customer service and engagement
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Construction and asset management
  • Health and safety
  • Data and digital
  • Strategy and governance

You bring

  • The skills and experience to help lead an ambitious, innovative and values-led housing association
  • Some knowledge or experience of the social housing environment in Scotland
  • Proven ability to work at a strategic level, think creatively and challenge constructively through the application of your knowledge and experience
  • Integrity and independent judgement alongside a commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with other Board Members and Executive teams

A place where you belong

To strengthen the diversity of our Board, we are especially keen to encourage your application, if you are from a Multicultural background, are disabled or identify as LGBTQ+.
