Crossroads was founded in 1968, with the declaration that everyone should have the right to ‘live gloriously’. This meant two things: tackling whatever in society gets in the way of a fulfilling life, and nurturing and strengthening people’s confidence and resilience. Based at the Barn in Gorbals, we work with young people, families, and individuals, and work on issues of disability, mental health, migration, housing conditions and much more. Wherever possible we work to bring people together to share experiences, decide together and act together.
Our Board of Trustees is rooted in the community, and elected by members of the Association. These local roots have been essential to the survival of the organisation for over 50 years, against a background that has not always been friendly towards local action or challenges to authority. The survival has also depended on the essential advice and support of legal, financial and organisational talents both within the organisation and from supporters, so that we can demonstrate our integrity and responsibility.
We are looking to increase the strength and breadth of memebrship of our Board of Trustees / Directors and are keen to bring new members on Board. We would particularly welcome interest from younger people, minorities, and those with professional and life experiences we can draw on.

By joining Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as Lead Stroke Nurse – Borders, you can be the difference between people simply surviving and people truly living.
This is a home-based role, and applicants can be located out with the NHS Borders area. You will provide support to service users remotely and lead a team who deliver care across the region.
You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity supporting people with chest, heart, and stroke conditions to rebuild their lives. Our Stroke Nurse Service, within the CHSS Community Healthcare Support Services, provides person-centred, self-management-focused support to people and families affected by stroke or TIA.
As Lead Stroke Nurse, you will remotely manage and develop a team of registered Stroke Nurses and Health Care Assistants, ensuring they can provide confidential, independent information, advice, and support to people affected by chest, heart, and stroke conditions, as well as Long Covid. You will play a key role in implementing organisational policies, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement to support the successful delivery of our No Life Half Lived strategy.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a clinical qualification and registration with a UK clinical body (such as NMC or HCPC), alongside demonstrable management experience. Comprehensive stroke knowledge is essential, and leadership experience is desirable.
The Hospital is situated on the outskirts of Melrose in the Scottish Borders. The Borders covers a large and scenically beautiful area of the Southern Uplands of Scotland. Predominately rural, it is historically a unique part of the country, the home of the Border Revivers, where annually each town maintains its links with the past during the season of Common Ridings. Seven-aside rugby originated in Melrose, and the Melrose event in particular draws large crowds each year. The Borders has tremendous facilities for sport and leisure. Glentress and Innerleithen mountain bike parks are world renowned for both cross-country and downhill biking. The beautiful Berwickshire coast provides options for sea kayaking, surfing, diving and sea fishing. In addition, there are facilities for fishing, golf, swimming, horse riding, cricket, football, hiking and many other activities. Excellent cultural opportunities in terms of music and art societies, drama, and small theatres in Melrose and Selkirk as well as amateur opera. There are excellent restaurants, cinemas and shops. Excellent Fitness Centre in Galashiels and other Borders towns. There is a purpose-built nursery in the grounds of the hospital.
The Scottish Borders offers all the benefits of rural life with very easy access to major cities such as Edinburgh (37 miles) Glasgow (75 miles) Newcastle (75 miles). Edinburgh is renowned for its cultural activities in music, including opera and ballet, theatre, cinemas (including a film theatre) and visual arts, and of course every year there is the world-famous Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe Festival. Local transport links have improved greatly in the last year or so.
The Borders Railway has train services to central Edinburgh running every thirty minutes (journey time 50 minutes approx.). Tweedbank Station is a few minutes’ walk from the Borders General Hospital. There are rail links to the rest of the country at Berwick Upon Tweed, and Carlisle and there is easy access to Edinburgh Airport

Role Purpose
The Fundraising and Corporate Partnerships Manger plays a key role in growing sustainable income for Calum’s Cabin by developing and managing high-value fundraising streams, including a renewed focus on corporate partnerships. The postholder will build strong relationships with corporate supporters, trusts, and community partners, delivering innovative fundraising initiatives that support families affected by cancer.
This role combines strategic development with hands-on delivery and is ideal for an experienced fundraiser who is passionate about making a tangible impact in a small, dynamic charity environment. You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and the founders to develop and deliver the Fundraising Strategy.

Home-Start Clackmannanshire is a long standing, dynamic charity, striving to ensure every young child (under 12) has the best possible start in life locally. Raising a family has never been easy; our trained volunteers and staff are there to support families through challenging times. In Scotland, Home-Starts have over 1,500 volunteers supporting over 3,500 families and 6,500 children each year through compassionate, confidential help to parents/carers when they need us most. The parents/carers we support are often overwhelmed and isolated. They may be struggling with mental health, illness, disability, multiple births, poverty, domestic abuse, separation and/or trauma. We provide a bespoke support package of 1:1 in home and group services for families, helping them to cope with the stresses and strains of daily life and encourage them to build the skills, confidence, and strength they need to nurture their children for years to come.
In 2024, Action for Children, NHS (speech and language) and Educational Psychology launched an exciting new provision called Play Roots with the support and funding from our local Child Wellbeing Partnership. Play Roots is an enhanced 0-5 group provision for local families operating across four localities in Clackmannanshire weekly.
Purpose of the job
Play Roots has developed rapidly since the first group launched, with families directly informing our sessions, allowing us to ensure we are delivering a communities based, group support system, providing a nurturing and educational environment for children (0-5) and their parents/carers. Play Roots aims to enhance positive well-being, parent-child attachment, support early childhood development, and encourage wider community connections and changes for parental progression; providing the foundations for children and families to flourish long-term.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven practitioner, capable of coordinating the delivery of our four local groups to ensure their effective running, and maximising impact through groups supporting the development of children and parents/carers by creating fun and interesting learning environments/activities to enhance skills, promote emotional resilience, and encourage positive behaviours and routines. Central to this role is effectively liaising with partners and supporting our delivery team made up of staff from Home-Start Clackmannanshire, Action for Children, Educational Psychology, Speech and language, and a growing team of volunteers.

About the team
The Information & Support team is based in Glasgow and Liverpool and offers a range of services to people affected by lung cancer across the UK. The team works closely with our Research, Finance, Income generation and Marketing teams based in Liverpool. Our main activities include distributing information designed to support medical understanding and psychological coping; delivering our Ask the Nurse service which provides support and advice; supporting people affected by lung cancer face to face via our Support Group network and Information Days; and our Connect online and 1-1 support services, promoting awareness of signs and symptoms and the benefit of early diagnosis of lung cancer.
About the role
You will be working in the department dealing directly with people affected by lung cancer. The post holder will provide operational management and engagement for our growing range of information and support services. This role will focus on building our service capacity, systems and profile. It will contribute to the involvement of people affected by lung cancer in the services, advocacy and policy reach of the charity.
Presbytery Support Officer - Clèir Eilean Ì The Church of Scotland in the Highlands and Hebrides
The Presbytery Support Officer is key to ensuring that all who contact the Presbytery have a positive experience with a warm, welcoming and helpful approach. Using your significant administration experience you will ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently and the presbytery website and social media channels are kept up to date.
The Presbytery Support Officer will work closely with the Presbytery Clerk to ensure that those within the Presbytery are well resourced and supported.
Alongside office management duties such as minute taking, diary management and maintaining procedures, you will also bring strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, flexibility, creativity and approachability to this role.

Providing practical and emotional support, information and advice to the families who come into contact with HMP Barlinnie, improving the visits experience and through an earlier intervention model, supporting complex needs, easing often extremely difficult life circumstances for children and families - including the multi-faceted impacts of deep poverty.

The Finance Assistant will support the Treasurer by maintaining financial records, producing reports for internal church management, reporting externally as required, help prepare annual church budgets, and assist in the preparation of annual accounts for audit.
The Finance Assistant will have accounting accreditation by examination and will have experience working in a similar church or charity environment.
The person appointed to this role will be a committed Christian who plays a key part in enabling the church to honour God through integrity, transparency, and good financial management.
This role is based at the church office, with flexibility for some home working by arrangement. Line management will be through the Operations Manager and Church Treasurer, both of whom will provide ongoing advice and support.
