This new service will build on the support that we already offer to women and children.
Are you passionate about women’s rights and supporting survivors of domestic abuse? Do you have experience of working with women who have experienced trauma? We are looking for a Women’s Family Court Advocacy Worker to join our team and provide vital support to women navigating the family court process as a result of domestic abuse.
You will provide trauma-informed, one-to-one advocacy and practical support to women involved in the family court system. You will support women to understand the court process, their rights and options, and assist with safety planning and risk assessment. In addition to individual support, you will facilitate group work programmes for women, creating a safe space for peer support and connection to enhance wellbeing. You will liaise with solicitors, court professionals and partner agencies to ensure women’s voices are heard and their experiences are recognised. You will refer and signpost women to other appropriate services where required to better support their wider needs as a whole.
As part of the role, you will be required to participate within our Crisis Support and work out of hours to support.
It is essential that you have experience of providing support to women who have experienced gender-based violence. A suitable qualification such as HNC Social Services or SVQ Level 3 Social Services and Healthcare is essential or a degree or post graduate qualification in a relevant field. You will have a willingness to work towards a qualification in relation to advocacy. The nature of our work requires a commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you have a driving license and access to a car.

Are you passionate about children’s rights? Do you enjoy working directly with children and young people and have experience supporting those affected by trauma? We are looking for a Children’s Family Court Advocacy Worker to join our team and provide dedicated support to children and young people whose families are involved in civil family court proceedings due to domestic abuse.
You will provide child-centred, trauma informed support to help children understand family court processes in an age-appropriate way, and ensure their voices and experiences are recognised. This will compromise of one-to-one support and the facilitation and creation of age-appropriate group work and peer support. You will work with others and signpost to appropriate agencies where necessary to ensure children’s safety and wider well-being throughout the court process.
This role requires someone who is confident communicating complex information in a child friendly way and who understands the impact domestic abuse has on children and young people. You will have a clear understanding of children’s rights and use this knowledge to empower children to express their views and advocate on their behalf to ensure their wishes and rights are heard.
As part of the role, you will be required to participate within our Crisis Support and work out of hours to support.

Main Purpose of Post:
To develop and coordinate ‘FriendZ Meetups’ our exciting service programme for adults with Down’s syndrome, ensuring the delivery and support of social group meetings throughout Scotland. Creating opportunities for young people and adults with Down’s syndrome to develop new friendships, increase self-esteem, independence, confidence, and social skills.
To work alongside and provide direct support to DSS Engagement Worker involving weekly in person meetings and to support with travel to meetings and events.
To be responsible for a small team of volunteers within your area who will support the group meetings and includes all aspects of volunteer recruitment, training, support, maintaining and celebrating achievements. Demands of the post:
This post is home-based with a mix of online and face to face work involving travel across specific areas of Scotland. Evening work and occasional, weekend work will be required as many of the social meetups will be in the evenings. This is included in your working hours and scheduled in accordingly. GNWCAB’s Board of Directors are looking for four new Directors to work alongside other board members to oversee and support our Chief Executive and our dynamic team of staff and volunteers. Later this year, we will be moving premises and we are seeking to expand our Board to support this process and our onward development. At this important point in our journey, we are seeking Directors who can bring different perspectives to help the Bureau achieve its plans for the future and provide the most relevant and accessible advice services possible.
The Board is currently made up of seven Directors, each offering a different skillset that can support the governance needs and development aims of the organisation. We welcome applications from anyone who feels passionate about our work, regardless of professional background.
The Board has identified an upcoming skills gap related to third sector fundraising and governance, and we hope to fill one of the four roles with someone who has experience of this kind. We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to support the Head of Finance and Corporate Services and lead the day-to-day operations of the Finance team. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information, including management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and statutory reporting across the charity. The Trusts and Grants Fundraiser is a new role brought in to support with this growing income stream. This is an initial 2 year fixed term contract with the potential to become a permanent position.
The fundraiser will work beneath and with the Fundraising Manager – Trusts to develop trust income. Specifically the post holder will manage the small trust portfolio, support with reporting on KPIs and impact, create engaging cases for support, and support the Manager with various tasks, freeing them up to develop larger, strategic bids.
