We are seeking an experienced Buildings and Facilities Officer to join us in ensuring the smooth operation of the Royal Society of Edinburgh’s venue and services. You will play a key role in ensuring maintenance, compliance and operational services are delivered to meet RSE’s needs, while providing support to venue activities when required.

About you

You will bring:

• Proven experience in providing buildings, facilities, or property services support; including maintenance, coordination, and contractor liaison.
• Experience of supporting statutory compliance and building safety checks such as water hygiene (Legionella), fire safety, and other facilities compliance activities.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience in supporting different teams where required.
• Experience of working with contractors and service providers.
• A high level of attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills; oral and written.

Experience in supporting health and safety activities and assisting with fire safety coordination is desirable, and a willingness to learn are equally important.

The Service

Our Edinburgh Mental Health Services is made up of five teams of support workers who provide visiting tenancy support across Edinburgh to people experiencing mental ill health. The service also has a Core and Cluster accommodation service which provides more intensive support to people who have spent time in long-term hospital care. Our support enables the people we work with to live as independently as possible in their own home and improve their mental and physical health.

The Job

We have an exciting opportunity for ambitious and motivated Support Workers to join our team and improve the lives of people supported by our Edinburgh Mental Health Services.

In this role, you will be supported to work using a person centred and trauma informed approach and develop effective relationships with people affected by a range of mental health problems, supporting them to cope in difficult times and working towards recovery and a good life. You will provide emotional, practical and social support to enable people to live as independently as possible and make informed choices in all aspects of their lives.

This role involves the administration of medication to some of the individuals we support. Full training will be provided for this.

The Fundraising and Corporate Partnerships Manger plays a key role in growing sustainable income for Calum’s Cabin by developing and managing high-value fundraising streams, including a renewed focus on corporate partnerships. Bairns Hoose is based on the European Barnahus model. Barnahus is a child-friendly, multidisciplinary, and interagency model of justice, care and recovery for children who are victims and witnesses of all forms of violence. A place where all Police, Social Work, Health, Court and Recovery services are based under one roof. Children receive a coordinated trauma responsive plan to support their journey through the care, protection, and justice system. The aim of the model is to prevent re-traumatisation caused by delayed and disjointed investigation and court proceedings; to keep children safe; allow them access to fair justice and to help them recover from the trauma of their ordeal.

The Project Lead ideally with Lived Experience will play a key role in delivering the NextGen Empowered Cashback programme, supporting Black and minority ethnic young people aged 12–25 who may be at risk of exploitation, exclusion, or involvement in anti-social or criminal activity.

Drawing on lived experience and cultural understanding, the Project Lead will build trusted relationships with young people and families, lead diversionary activities including sport and Hip Hop Education, provide mentoring and support, and contribute to outreach and engagement within communities in Edinburgh and West Lothian.

Sessional Workers - National Intensive Support Package Service
