The successful candidate will be coordinating engagement opportunities for our group of Young Advisors and lead on efforts to expand the group’s reach. The successful candidate will also lead the coordination of our quality communications activities for the My Rights, My Say service.
You will become an important part of the My Rights My Say network and will liaise with internal and external partners to create opportunities for children and young people, aged 12-15, with additional support needs to share their views and experiences.

Purpose:
The post will provide leadership and management to our membership team of two, taking care to ensure communication and members services work well, while directly undertaking delivery across a number of policy and knowledge portfolios.
The post holder will be expected to provide a link between our groups, representatives, staff and the wider policy environment. About Aberlour Youthpoint Moray
Our Youthpoint Moray service provides help to children and young people in Moray who may be struggling with their emotions and behaviour, prompting concerns about their well-being.
Aberlour Youthpoint Moray offers a range of services which works with young people aged 10-26 which include our Intensive Community Support and Early Help Services. In addition to these we have developed a YP-Zone, the purpose of this service is to improve the wellbeing, social integration and life chances of Young People affected by substance use in Moray.
These services are provided in a variety of ways, including 1 to 1’s, group work and family support.

We are seeking a passionate, creative and organised individual to join our team as a Volunteer Coordinator, working 30 hours per week. These hours will be worked during office hours with regular evening and weekend working. This role is currently funded for 12 months with the possibility of funding beyond this.
You will hold a relevant qualification at SCQF level 7 or above or equivalent knowledge acquired by other means.
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training and managing our volunteering and mentoring service as well mentoring a caseload of young people. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of our mentoring service. You will also be responsible for the development and expansion of our current volunteer and mentoring service. You will work within a variety of locations in the Moray area. The role will also involve liaising with partner agencies and regular travel throughout the Moray area is expected. A driving licence is essential for this role.

What is the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Co-ordinator, (up to 12 month Fixed-term contract) working 28 hours per week. Work pattern: Monday - Friday between 8AM - 8PM & Saturday 10AM - 4PM

Reporting directly to a Locality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring, within your Service(s), that VSS’s local service development and delivery plan is being implemented within your geographical area(s). Service delivery is provided by a team of skilled and knowledgeable volunteers, you will be responsible for planning their deployment to ensure that the service delivered meets the desired outcomes of victims and witnesses of crime, our service users. Responsible for all aspects of a volunteer engagement with VSS at your services, including recruitment, induction, learning and development, ongoing performance management and support. Contributing to business planning and co-ordination ensuring that continuous learning takes place to monitor that the outcomes of service users are being met.

What you’ll need to be successful
We are looking for someone who is experienced in a similar role and can evidence of continuing professional development, effective leadership style, able to build confidence, motivate and improve performance with a clean full driver licence. Good working knowledge of the voluntary/charity sector is required, as is a willingness to be flexible in working hours and able to travel as required.
