The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, delivering integrated, insight-driven strategies, and navigating complex governance and organisational structures. Strong strategic capability, excellent communication and influencing skills, and the ability to embed a culture of performance, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement are essential. The role also requires strong digital and analytical capability, commercial acumen, and the confidence to engage effectively with Executive, Trustee, and Council-level stakeholders, positioning the College as a modern, inclusive, and globally relevant institution.

About the Role:

This Support Worker role at our Kilmarnock Whatriggs Service involves working on a rota covering set day and back shifts weekly, including select weekend work. This role is full time, involves 35 hours of work per week and is based at a service supporting care-experienced young people between the ages of 16-25.

  • provide general advocacy and advice to the people we support, including assistance to enable them to meet the conditions of their occupancy agreements.

Response Service (CDRS) for people in distress who do not require medical or clinical intervention.

We would like to recruit for our Primary Care In Hrs Pathway. This pathway takes referral form for GPs and their Primary Care Team. The In-Hrs service operates 5 days a week Monday to Friday 9pm -4.30pm.

The service operates from our GAMH Head Office, St Andrews by the Green, 33 Turnbull Street, Glasgow G1 5PR

We wish to appoint the following:

2.0 x Distress Response Workers

IN HRS service – (REF: DRW/INHRS)

Full Time Equivalent is 35 hours per/week: Mon to Fri 9am – 4.30pm

Salary - £26,586 per annum

Post is up to 31st March 2027 (may be extended dependent on funding)

Key Skills: Good communication skills to be able to work effectively with referrers and individuals using the service. Compassionate listening, be able to alleviate individual’s feelings of distress. Be highly resourceful in supporting individuals i.e., identifying coping strategies, self-management techniques and onward referral where appropriate. Be confident and competent to apply risk assessment, safety planning, and escalation processes where appropriate. SVQ 3 or equivalent or willingness towards achieving this qualification is essential.
