We are seeking an experienced and creative Trusts & Grants Fundraiser to join our dedicated and diverse team. The ideal candidate will have direct experience of success in a similar role and be familiar with the funding challenges across Scotland’s third sector. Knowledge or experience of working with mental health conditions is not essential but will be helpful in appreciating the context of our work.
We operate a hybrid working policy and the post holder is required to be based in our Paisley office 2 days each week. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Finance is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to the Board of Trustees, Chief Executive Officer and other senior managers to support strategic decision-making and safeguard the assets of Connecting Carers.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the finance function, including budgeting, management accounting and cash management as well as developing and implementing financial policies and controls and lead on risk management. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the Grant and Trust officer and lead on the development of a Fundraising Strategy for the organisation, as well as managing the team responsible for delivering grants to Unpaid Carers.
You must be passionate about what we do and our commitment to supporting unpaid Carers throughout Highland. This is a fantastic opportunity as Head of Finance to use your skills and creativity to make a difference to the lives of unpaid Carers throughout Highland.

The Ombudsman investigates complaints about most organisations providing public services in Scotland where a member of the public claims to have suffered injustice or hardship as a result of maladministration or service failure. The Ombudsman is also responsible for setting and monitoring complaints handling standards for the public sector in Scotland, carries out independent reviews of decisions that councils make on community care and crisis grant applications (Welfare Fund Independent Reviews) and is also the Independent National Whistleblowing Officer (INWO) for the NHS in Scotland.
This is high profile, demanding and challenging role. We are looking for a talented individual with excellent communication skills, experience of delivering functions within a statutory framework, excellent judgment to reach sound and impartial decisions, a proven track record of strategic leadership and demonstrable experience of delivering results.
The successful candidate will ideally be able to take up appointment on 1 May 2025.
This is a full-time, fixed term, appointment for 8 years and attracts a starting salary of £142,661.

The Merchants House is one of Glasgow’s oldest charitable organisations with a history dating back to 1605 and before. Today we make a positive impact on the lives and experiences of the people of Glasgow and the West of Scotland by providing grant support to, and partnering with, third sector bodies and by supporting individuals in need. The House manages substantial endowment funds, many of which have specific terms on the distribution of grants. Rental income is generated from the office suites of the Merchants House building owned and occupied by the House.
The present membership of the House is over 800. Up to thirty-six Directors, elected by the members, carry on the active work of the House.
The Head of the House is the Lord Dean of Guild, elected annually by its Members. The Lord Dean acts as Chairman of the House and delegates Convenorship of the different committees. The Office of the Dean of Guild ranks next to that of the Lord Provost of the City.

RSPB Scotland is a leading nature conservation charity dedicated to protecting Scotland's wildlife and natural habitats.
We are looking for a Fundraising Officer to join our Fundraising Team in Scotland to help generate and maximise income from external funding sources (mainly charitable trusts and grants). This role is based in Scotland but flexible - The ideal candidate will be home-based unless there is a need for a reasonable adjustment.
Role involves:
The ideal candidate would have excellent writing skills as well as an attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Fundraising is a dynamic area of work and an ability to re-prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines is essential. The successful candidate must also be confident in building and developing strong relationships, both externally with funders and internally with RSPB staff from other departments and nature reserves, whom you will work with to draft applications and updates to funders.
This role is primarily responsible for fundraising to enable work undertaken by RSPB Scotland, and as such the successful candidate will ideally be based in Scotland. This role will be home-based; but will involve some infrequent travel to offices and reserves across Scotland.

We seek a proactive and dedicated Development & Communications Officer to join our team on maternity cover. In this role, you’ll drive our fundraising efforts, lead the submission of grant applications, work on external relationship building, and oversee our external communications.
Approximately 80% of the role is fundraising-based. The remaining 20% of the role will be focused on communications.
