Join our team in South West! Currently providing support to over 30 autistic people across Lanark, Biggar & Carluke. We encourage and empower individuals to access opportunities that matter to them including accessing work placements, voluntary projects and a variety of social opportunities.

At Scottish Autism we acknowledge the specialist support our staff provide to autistic individuals, therefore those doing support work are known as Autism Practitioners. We continuously improve to ensure all our Autism Practitioners are supported and have the skills to deliver a quality service. This post is a good opportunity for those with a generic support worker experience to specialise.

As an Autism Practitioner, experience of working within social care is desirable but not essential as we are seeking to appoint people who are willing to learn and develop into the role and share our organisational values: Collaboration, Compassion, Change Makers, & Contribution. We will support you to do this by offering an extensive autism specific training programme.

Autism Practitioners work as part of a team to:

  • Develop, review and implement personalised support plans for the supported individual,
  • Build positive relationships with the supported individual,
  • Work in partnership with the supported individual, and their support network,
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the supported individual’s life goals and aspirations are at the centre of their support.

On a day-to-day basis, Autism Practitioners enable supported individuals:

  • To take part in their chosen activities, and access local community opportunities,
  • To help maintain their tenancies and support them to make the decisions that matter to them.
  • To promote independence and active citizenship, community inclusion, support with household chores. Required support may include personal care.

As part of your role, you will be required to undertake shift work, including weekends and evenings, so flexibility towards working hours is key.

You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our community health support services form a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.

The role of Stroke Nurse is to facilitate a smooth transition from hospital back into the community, for people who have had a stroke and their families. The Stroke Nurse helps them adjust to the changes associated with the stroke, through the provision of information, advice and support.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is organised and motivated, with good communication skills. Candidates must have a first level general nursing qualification and have a minimum of 3 years’ post-registration experience in either a hospital or community setting. Experience working with people affected by stroke is desirable.

The Community Link Worker programme in Inverclyde is funded by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Community Link Workers are based within GP Practices and they work across the community, third sector and public sector to support people to live well through strengthening connections between community resources and primary care.

Community Link Workers provide a service that is responsive to the needs and interests of a GP practice population, who are often living in an area affected by socio-economic deprivation. They support patients to identify issues that affect their ability to live well. Taking a person-centred approach, the post holder will support individuals to help them identify personal outcomes and priorities that they would like to address, overcome any barriers to addressing these and link them to local and national support services and activities.

The Community Link Worker will support the existing GP practice teams to become better equipped to match local and national support services to the needs of individuals attending for health and welbeing care. They will also build relationships and processes between the GP practices and community resources, statutory organisations, other health services and voluntary organisations.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fife Youth Justice service. You will be responsible for working directly with young people as part of an existing Youth Justice team.

You should have experience of working with young people who offend and have knowledge of psychosocial and psychological interventions, Restorative Justice and experience of delivering group work programmes.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work both as part of a team and independently is essential along with a commitment to Sacro’s value base.

Experience of multi-disciplinary team working would be an advantage.

Refugee Festival Scotland Programming Fellow

Refugee Festival Scotland is a unique community and arts festival dedicated to achieving positive and lasting social change. Co-ordinated by Scottish Refugee Council, the Festival is held across Scotland every June and provides a platform for refugee communities to showcase their skills, talents and cultures and to tell new, more positive stories about integration and diversity in Scotland. In 2026, the Festival will run from 12th – 21st June.

We are looking for a Programming Fellow to join our team and develop a strand of the 2026 Festival. The fellowship is presented as a learning and development opportunity for an emerging producer or curator to gain hands-on experience in festival programming and programming operations. The Fellow will work closely with the Festival team and will be supported to develop and deliver a programme of events.

The Fellow should have a demonstrated interest in the arts and themes of migration, but no previous programming experience is required. As part of the application process, applicants will be asked to provide a short proposal for the event(s) they would like to develop.

We invite applications from all programming specialisms and backgrounds, including music, performing arts, film, poetry, visual arts, heritage and socially engaged practice. Applicants should have lived experience of seeking refugee protection and be living in Scotland at the time of applying. This role will be subject to basic disclosure Scotland.
