This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join a young charity at this pivotal stage of growth and to make an impact on Rewilding Britain’s ability to catalyse rewilding.

We are looking for an experienced Major Donor Manager who will build and strengthen relationships with existing and potential high value donors with the ability to make transformational gifts. You’ll skilfully and articulately engage donors, bringing to life our most pressing priorities and match these with their wishes, building mutually beneficial long-term relationships.

You will have a background of working with high net-worth clients or donors, along with excellent relationship management skills, and you will be looking to work with an ambitious and growing environmental organisation like Rewilding Britain.

We hope you will share our passion for rewilding and nature-based solutions to the climate and biodiversity crisis. You will be comfortable working autonomously and remotely. You will be part of a small fundraising team, with a strong focus on working closely with the wider staff team to support existing donor relationships and pipeline development.

The Scottish Rewilding Alliance is a collaboration between 25+ like-minded organisations who share a mission to enable rewilding at a scale new to Scotland. Its approach is to embrace working in partnership with landowners, communities, interest groups and government to achieve a shared agenda that shapes the land and sea.

We are seeking an experienced advocacy coordinator to support a vision of Scotland becoming the world’s first Rewilding Nation. This exciting role will support the Scottish Rewilding Alliance, coordinating and implementing its advocacy strategy, while integrating the Scottish perspective into Rewilding Britain’s wider policy and influencing work across Britain.

To lead on the delivery of a rewilding advocacy strategy for Scotland in partnership with the Scottish Rewilding Alliance as well as bring the Scottish perspective into Rewilding Britain’s wider work to mainstream rewilding into policy and practice across Britain.

Rewilding Britain is at an exciting stage of its development. We're a small but growing charity, with just over eight full-time equivalent staff and a strong, committed and experienced group of eight trustees.

We aim to influence policy, inspire public action and catalyse joined-up practical action which contribute to the establishment of rewilding and nature-enhancing land and marine uses across at least 30% of Britain by 2030

We are looking for a trustee who will strengthen the board’s understanding of the Scottish context and how this affects rewilding both in policy and practice. The ideal candidate will also strengthen the board through their governance experience, their diverse skills and perspectives and their enthusiasm for rewilding.

What can you bring?

We are looking for someone who shares our passion for rewilding and the natural world and in

particular has:

● Some experience of governance in any sector. Familiarity with non-profit organisations

is desirable but not essential.

● An in-depth understanding of the Scottish context as it affects rewilding and living in

Scotland.

● A collaborative approach to working with trustees, staff and partner organisations.

● Ability to contribute a minimum of five days in meetings, including four one-day trustee meetings a year plus a two day review meeting/field trip plus ad hoc input as required.

Length of appointment

The term of appointment will be three years, with the possibility to extend for a further term.
