Finance Officer

Teapot Trust, a registered charity (SC041885) that delivers art therapy to support children and young people living with chronic health conditions, seeks to appoint a Finance Officer.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Managing day-to-day financial processes with robust controls – invoices, banking, payments, processing transactions through accounting software (currently Xero)
  • Producing monthly management accounts
  • Liaising with the charity’s accountants re: timely production of year-end accounts
  • Analysis of historic trends to inform income and expenditure projections
  • Managing budget planning with staff and the Finance Committee
  • Liaison re: outsourced payroll
  • Taking a lead in Finance meetings and contributing to Funding/Operations meetings
  • Other finance-related/contractual admin is included in the role e.g. annual insurance renewal, office and equipment leases, managing the IT contract.

Teapot Trust, a registered charity (SC041885) that delivers art therapy to support children and young people living with chronic health conditions, seeks to appoint a Finance Convenor to the board of trustees – a role that will fall vacant at the end of the financial year in March 2025.

A qualified CA is sought to serve as a Trustee. The individual will have strategic oversight of Finance and will Chair the Finance Committee (8 per year) and report on Finances to the board of trustees (6 per year). Managing Risk is a key focus with oversight of income/expenditure and projections to ensure the charity can operate and grow sustainably.

For context, Teapot Trust is bringing Finance back in-house after a period when it has was outsourced.
