Shape the Future of Inverclyde: Join The Newark Trust Board

Got a passion for Inverclyde and a drive to create real change? The Newark Trust is looking for enthusiastic new Trustees to help steer our funding and transform local lives.

As a grant-making charity, we focus our resources where they matter most:

  • Fighting Child Poverty
  • Assisting Children & Young People
  • Upgrading Local Spaces via our Community Places Fund

No Board Experience? No Problem.

You don’t need a background in governance—we provide full training, a thorough induction, and ongoing support. What we care about most is your perspective, energy, and commitment to our community.

We want a Board that reflects the people we serve. We particularly welcome applications from women (who are currently underrepresented on our Board) and individuals with lived or professional experience in:

  • Local community & third-sector work
  • Tackling child poverty & supporting additional needs
  • Education & local lived insight

The Commitment

  • 6 meetings a year (rotating between in-person in Port Glasgow and online)
  • 1 annual strategy day plus occasional working groups
  • Visits to Inverclyde organisations that The Newark Trust supports
