Purpose of Post:

The post-holder will work within the East Dunbartonshire Befriending Service, providing social contact and inclusion through volunteers to vulnerable socially isolated adults 18+ who have been referred to the service and reside in East Dunbartonshire. This will be either telephone, one-to-one, or group methods of befriending. You will assist in supporting carefully recruited, selected and trained volunteer befrienders.

Outcomes of the Service:

East Dunbartonshire Befriending Service provides services to increase the social connectedness of its service-users; reduce the isolation and loneliness of its service-users, and ensure that its volunteers have access to high-quality volunteering.

The above post is based in Kirkintilloch but works across the whole of East Dunbartonshire. Travel across East Dunbartonshire and working out of the office will be required.

Are you looking for a role where you can truly make a difference to young people’s lives? We are seeking a Young Persons Group & Activities Coordinator to join our Routes team. The post will support the ongoing development and delivery of Routes programme across East and West Dunbartonshire, supporting young people aged 12-26 years affected by someone else’s alcohol or drug use. The post holder will play an integral part in creating positive childhood memories and facilitating fun group activities.

Routes is co-produced in collaboration with the young people we support, which means their views are central to everything we do. The Routes model encourages young people to have hope and aspirations. We provide person-centred support which combines one-to-one and/ or group support, helping them build a positive future.

Alongside the advocacy and one-to-one support, we also offer a busy programme of activities and groups. We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative person to join our team to plan and organise the delivery of our peer support groups and school holiday activities programme.

We are seeking compassionate, creative and collaborative applicants who want to make a difference to the lives of young people affected someone else’s substance use. The role involves working alongside young people to plan and organise groups and activities of their choice. We are looking for candidates who are educated to HNC level or have relevant work experience, ideally with experience of planning and organising groups for young people. Candidates should have organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.

East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid (EDWA) is looking for a passionate and skilled individual to join our team. We are looking for a Finance Officer who will be committed to our aims and values and who will bring extensive financial management experience and skills to our charity.

The main role of the post holder will be to oversee and manage the overall financial health of the charity, ensuring the sustainability of our services and providing financial monitoring information to our main funders and our Board of Trustees. As our Finance Officer, you’ll help ensure that every £1 donated creates maximum impact for the women, children and young people who need it most.

EDWA operates with a high level of funding from a variety of sources and applicants should therefore have at least two years’ experience of managing significant budgets with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.

You are required to have the appropriate skills, experience and qualifications that are relevant to the duties outlined in the job description, including being proficient in the use of Sage One Payroll and Microsoft Excel.

You should have an understanding of the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and be willing to work within the group’s collective, non-hierarchical structure.

The role is based in Kirkintilloch with potential for home/flexible working as part of your working week. Attendance will be required at our weekly team meetings to fulfil collective management responsibilities.

As there may be times where you will informally meet women, children or young people using our services, this post is subject to a successful PVG scheme check. We will also require suitable references and completion of a satisfactory 6-month induction period.
