About You

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Experience working with adults and children with learning disabilities, epilepsy, autism and physical support needs.

• Experience in using person centred planning techniques in addition to delivering and leading excellent support practices.

• Strong facilitation skills to encourage staff teams to take ownership and responsibility for the quality of support they deliver.

• The ability to effectively communicate with the people we support, staff teams, families and external care professionals.

• Creating and delivering robust service designs, support strategies and risk assessments whilst managing individual budgets.

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload whilst working under pressure.

• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.

• Full driving licence with access to your own vehicle for business use.

Help blind and partially sighted young people across Scotland have a stronger voice in the decisions that affect them.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and organised Youth Engagement Coordinator to lead and grow Haggeye - RNIB Scotland's award-winning youth forum that gives young people with sight loss a voice. Haggeye provides a friendly and supportive environment which allows young people to raise awareness of what it's like to be blind or partially sighted in Scotland today and what's important to them.

This is a varied and rewarding role, combining youth engagement, project delivery and advocacy. You'll organise events and training, build relationships with youth organisations and partners, support volunteers and help young people take part in the Scottish Youth Parliament. Just as importantly, you'll create opportunities for Haggeye members to influence RNIB Scotland's priorities and services, ensuring young people's voices aren't simply heard but actively shape what we do.

The role will involve some evening and weekend working to support Haggeye meetings, events and Scottish Youth Parliament activities.

What you'll bring:

• Experience of working with young people in both online and face-to-face settings

• Knowledge of the support available to blind and partially sighted young people and their families

• Experience of delivering projects, events and engagement activities

• A collaborative approach and confidence building relationships with young people and partners

• Strong organisational and communication skills

Forth Valley Sensory Centre (FVSC) is a unique, award-winning Charity based in Camelon. We cover the whole of Forth Valley providing a varied programme of high-quality activities, groups, and services for people of all ages with Sensory Loss.

We are seeking a Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator to lead the development and delivery of our programme which has been created for people who are blind, visually impaired, deafblind, d/Deaf and hard of hearing.

Our current programme, which is delivered across Forth Valley, includes a choir, history group, arts and crafts group, book group, BSL classes, braille classes, a men’s group and many other sessions, all of which are tailored to the needs of participants.

The post holder will use a variety of methods to generate feedback from participants that will be used to inform how the programme will evolve, and to provide evidence of its value to funders.

• An understanding of the impact that sensory loss has on the health, social and emotional wellbeing of individuals and their carers.
