This role requires the post holder to lead the development and delivery of our Lived Experience Engagement and Involvement Strategy. The post holder will play a key part in growing and supporting an inclusive membership network of disabled people, people living with long-term conditions and unpaid carers, ensuring that individuals are empowered to influence health and social care policy and practice in an impactful way.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, members and partners across the statutory, third, education and independent sectors, you will champion co-production, participation and person-centred approaches, helping to embed lived experience at the heart of decision-making.

The successful candidate must have :

• Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent through experience
• Experience of working with diverse communities, particularly disabled people, people with long term conditions and/or unpaid carers
• Experience of developing and delivering engagement and involvement strategies
• Experience of co-production and partnership working
• Ability to identify opportunities for participation, collaboration and improvement
• Strong understanding person centred approaches and inclusive and engagement practices
• Excellent communication skills including report writing, facilitation and delivering presentations
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadline
• IT skills including use of word processing, email, presentations, databases and online engagement platforms
• Knowledge and understanding of data protection and information governance.

Are you a confident relationship-builder who can inspire people to make a meaningful difference for children and families across Scotland?

We are looking for a Senior Philanthropy Executive to join our Partnerships & Philanthropy team and help grow income from CHAS’s mid-level giving audience. This role will focus on building strong relationships with donors and prospects who typically give £1,500–£9,999 per year, while identifying new opportunities to grow supporter loyalty, increase giving, and develop major gift prospects.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys thoughtful relationship management by combining compelling communication and proactive donor development. You will manage and grow a portfolio of mid-level donors, create tailored stewardship plans, spot opportunities within our supporter base, and work across CHAS to help build a strong pipeline of future philanthropic support.

The role sits within CHAS’s Partnerships & Philanthropy team and will play an important part in supporting long-term income growth and sustainability for the charity. The post can be based at any central CHAS site, but this is a flexible role that will allow for ample home and remote work. Regular (weekly) travel to meetings and events will be required in this role with some locations not easily accessed via public transport. It would be beneficial if you have a full driving license and access to a car. There may be opportunities for occasional overnight travel but this will be planned well in advance and with your consultation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of fundraising experience, excellent relationship skills and the confidence to engage supporters in a warm, thoughtful and compelling way.

You will have:

• Experience of fundraising, including a track record of securing four and five figure gifts.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with experience of increasing supporters’ financial and non-financial commitment over time.
• The ability to develop compelling proposals, presentations, and donor communications that inspire people to support a cause.
• Confidence working across teams to develop strong pipelines, identify opportunities, and translate relationships into income.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet agreed deadlines.
• The ability to communicate with warmth, clarity and influence — whether through writing, meetings, events, presentations or conversations with supporters.
• An understanding of data protection, GDPR and responsible supporter information management.

You do not need to have worked in children’s hospice care before, but you should be motivated by the opportunity to represent a global leader in children’s palliative care. Knowledge of hospice or paediatric palliative care would be helpful, but it is not essential.

It’s an exciting time to be part of Scottish Huntington’s Association with the implementation of Standing Tall: A Strategy For Growth 2023 – 28 to transform the care and support of Huntington’s families, expand services, raise awareness and deepen our involvement and support for world-leading research and clinical trials.

We are looking for a Health and Social Care professional to join our nationwide network of Huntington’s Disease Specialists to provide care management, specialist assessment and emotional support to individuals and families across Scotland.

Working in partnership with local Health and Social Care teams, you will also provide advice, training and education to professionals and voluntary agencies involved in all aspects of Huntington’s disease care.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated to have a positive influence on the quality of life of the individuals and families they support. This role is open to medical and health and social care staff from backgrounds such as nursing, allied health, social work and medicine. Professional body membership is essential. Previous experience of Huntington’s disease is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.

You should be able to work autonomously in this challenging and rewarding position. Good listening, communication and interpersonal skills are vital, as are excellent time keeping and caseload management abilities. Community-based practice knowledge, a driving licence and use of a car complete our list of essential criteria. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced disclosure check.
