Western Isles Rape Crisis Centre is seeking an Advocacy & Support Worker to join our team and provide specialist advocacy and support to survivors of sexual violence who are engaging with, or considering engaging with, the criminal justice system.

The role includes providing emotional and practical support, working collaboratively with partner agencies, and contributing to the development of advocacy services across the Western Isles in a compassionate, survivor-centred, and community-based way.

We are looking for someone with relevant support or advocacy experience, strong communication skills, and a clear commitment to survivor-centred, anti-discriminatory practice.

Fife Women’s Aid are looking to recruit a part-time support worker to join our Women’s Support Team.

As a service, we are expanding our capacity to better meet the needs of women who have experienced domestic abuse. Candidates should have good communication skills and a passion for supporting recovery from domestic abuse.

The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in health and social care or other relevant subject, or a willingness to work towards a qualification.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work on their own as well as part of a team. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).

Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre (LRCC); established in 2004, is an independent charity with the objective of relieving the distress and improving the welfare of women and girls who, at any time in their lives, have been subjected to any form of sexual violence. LRCC is a member of the Scottish Rape Crisis Alliance; and we work collaboratively with rape crisis centres across Scotland and specialist organisations in this sector as part of the national movement to eradicate male violence against women.

Supporting over 600 survivors every year and engaging with thousands of people in Lanarkshire in achieving our objectives, Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre is the lead specialist agency in this field and is highly regarded and trusted by statutory organisations, local third sector partners and most importantly the women and girls we support. The National Lottery Community Fund, Improving Lives- Young Persons Project 2025-2027:

Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre (LRCC) has been awarded funding for a 3-year period for a Young Survivors Project. The funding will provide a dedicated Young Survivors Support Service and lead to the creation of a Young People Reference Group. The Support Service will offer a range of individual and peer support options to aid in the recovery from any form of sexual violence or abuse. The Reference Group will be a space for young people to come together in solidarity, have their voices championed and amplified and be a key part of the prevention landscape tackling gender-based violence. The staff employed as part of the project will lead on the development and delivery of the project and work collaboratively within our existing staff teams to deliver the project outcomes.

This position of SV Support Practitioner is funded primarily under this project and also under the Scottish Government Delivering Equally Safe Fund. The case load of survivors will be comprised of young survivors, aged 12-25yrs and adults over 25.

To deliver specialist therapeutic support and information services to survivors of sexual violence, at our main premises, at outreach locations across Lanarkshire and via virtual methods.
