Purpose of the Post

• To provide an age-appropriate quality service to children and young people who have experience of domestic abuse. In doing so, meeting legal requirements and DWA standards and policies
• To promote the work of DWA in the local and wider community
• To work with a wide range of children and young people who may have complex needs
• To support the Service Director, CYP Service Manager and colleagues in achieving team and DWA objectives and in identifying areas for improvement
• To provide short term, intensive support to children affected by domestic abuse, supporting recovery in line with Cedar principles within DWA’s Domestic Abuse Family Support Service.

Western Isles Rape Crisis Centre is seeking an Advocacy & Support Worker to join our team and provide specialist advocacy and support to survivors of sexual violence who are engaging with, or considering engaging with, the criminal justice system.

The role includes providing emotional and practical support, working collaboratively with partner agencies, and contributing to the development of advocacy services across the Western Isles in a compassionate, survivor-centred, and community-based way.

We are looking for someone with relevant support or advocacy experience, strong communication skills, and a clear commitment to survivor-centred, anti-discriminatory practice.

Fife Women’s Aid are looking to recruit a part-time support worker to join our Women’s Support Team.

As a service, we are expanding our capacity to better meet the needs of women who have experienced domestic abuse. Candidates should have good communication skills and a passion for supporting recovery from domestic abuse.

The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in health and social care or other relevant subject, or a willingness to work towards a qualification.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work on their own as well as part of a team. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).

Job Purpose: The role of the Duty/Crisis Service Support Worker is to provide a confidential, safe and supportive information service to women and agencies who contact EWA through the crisis phone line and/or ‘drop in’ service. Where safety issues are assessed, the worker will ensure the completion of the Risk Identification checklist and an individualised support and safety plan. Where appropriate the worker will assess women, and any accompanying children who are affected by domestic abuse, for refuge accommodation. This role is based at EWA offices at 4 Cheyne Street, Edinburgh, EH4 1JB.

This role is subject to satisfactory Adult and Child PVG scheme membership.
