As a Trustee, you will help guide and support this important work, contributing to the strategic leadership and governance of an organisation that makes a real difference to people's lives every day. As we embark on an exciting new strategic phase, we are looking for people who are passionate about our cause and we welcome applications from both experienced Trustees and individuals new to Board roles who can demonstrate the judgement, confidence and strategic perspective required of charity Trustees.

We welcome applications from people with lived experience of being affected by crime, and we are also looking to increase the diversity of Board members. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, and communities to apply for Trustee positions, as we believe that a diverse board enhances our ability to provide effective support to victims, representative of our communities.

We are particularly interested in applicants who bring strength in one or more of the following areas:

• Strategic development and organisational transformation – including shaping, delivering or governing strategy in complex or changing environments.

• Organisational sustainability – including income diversification, partnership working, or long term financial viability.

• Criminal justice system experience – policy, practice or leadership experience within justice, statutory or related public services impacting victims and witnesses.

• Charity governance and board leadership – experience as a trustee, non executive, committee chair or senior leader with a strong understanding of good governance.

By joining the Board at this point, Trustees will help shape Victim Support Scotland’s next chapter and contribute to strong, sustainable governance that supports victims and witnesses across Scotland for years to come.

We are looking for people who are interested in being on our People Committee, Finance & Risk Committee or Services Committee. Grangemouth Community Sports Trust is looking to appoint up to three new Trustees to join the Board.

Who are we?

Grangemouth Community Sports Trust is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (a SCIO) set up to manage Grangemouth Stadium for community benefit. The Trust has just moved into its second year operating the Stadium and is aiming to complete a Community Asset Transfer of the facility.

Grangemouth Stadium is central Scotland’s premier athletics training and competition facility and hosts a large number of regional, national and international events, squad training days and coaching conferences. It has been the home of many Olympic and Commonwealth squad teams for training and boasts the relocated Hampden track from the 2014 Commonwealth Games. It is home to Falkirk Victoria Harriers and is of huge importance to the local community. The Trust seeks to widen and diversify the use of the facilities to secure its future and create a health and wellbeing hub for the local community.

Previous board experience is not necessary but the ability to provide oversight, scrutiny and direction is.

About the Role

As a Trustee, you will help set the strategic direction of the organisation, support effective governance and financial oversight, and ensure we continue to deliver on our mission. Trustees contribute to board discussions, bring their skills and insight to decision-making, and act in the best interests of the charity and the communities we serve.

In addition to applications for general trustee roles, we are also looking for someone with retail or commercial experience who can provide guidance on areas such as shop operations, customer experience and retail strategy, and offer support to our Head of Retail and Operations.
