South West Community Transport is a Scottish charity that supports charities and organisations in Glasgow and surrounding areas by offering safe, accessible, affordable, and friendly minibus hire. Our registered groups are remarkably diverse; including specialist schools, parent and toddler groups, youth groups, elderly support organisations and charities helping those with physical and/or mental health challenges and those fighting addictions.

We also offer a Patient Transport service which allows hundreds of individuals with no access to a car and unable to use public transport, to reach vital health appointments. This service is provided by voluntary drivers and is free to the users.

Role Overview

As our Treasurer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of South West Community Transport. You will oversee our financial management, reporting, and planning, ensuring we continue to support our communities by offering vital transport services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of the annual budget and annual financial statements to the Board

• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and guidelines.

• Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.

• Provide financial advice to the board and support strategic planning.

• Monitor cash flow and manage financial risks.

• Present the latest financial position at quarterly Board meetings (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance etc)

• Liaise with relevant staff and trustees to ensure that effective financial procedures and controls are in place

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join our East Lothian service as an Independent Advocacy Worker.

This is a rewarding role where you will make a genuine difference by providing one-to-one independent advocacy to people aged 16 and over with learning disabilities and/or autism. You will support individuals to have their voices heard, helping them express their views, understand their rights, explore their options, and take part in decisions that affect their lives.

You will also play a part in identifying opportunities to develop collective advocacy groups, supporting people to come together around shared experiences and priorities.

The role involves travelling throughout East Lothian to meet people in a range of community and clinical settings. Travel expenses are covered, and you will be supported to plan your work in a way that is both effective and sustainable.

Working closely with the Service Coordinator, you will help maintain accurate service data and support the development of quarterly reports, helping demonstrate the impact of advocacy.

This is a role that offers a high degree of autonomy, alongside regular support, supervision, and opportunities to connect with colleagues across the organisation.

As an Engineer at Walk Wheel Cycle Trust (WWCT) you will be responsible for creating clear and accurate technical work. You will use your professional skills and experience to complete tasks with minimal supervision. The work plays a key role in delivering complex projects that support WWCT’s mission to provide high quality and sustainable infrastructure.

You will work as part of a multi disciplinary team which includes designers, engineers, technicians and other specialists. Together, they deliver projects and programmes that support the Trust’s strategic priorities.

In this role, you will use your recognised technical knowledge, apply practical and creative problem solving, and produce reliable technical outputs. You will work closely with colleagues across different disciplines and contribute to solutions that help improve places for people to walk, wheel and cycle. Your contribution is important to creating sustainable and accessible transport networks.

• Manage straightforward projects from start to finish through all RIBA stages.
• Use technical expertise to produce accurate and reliable project outputs and deliverables.
• Engage with internal colleagues, external partners, regulatory authorities and other key stakeholders during project delivery.
• Contribute to business development activities by preparing agreed project proposals.
