About The Role

Do you have background in an administrative or leadership role? Do you have a track record of improving processes and providing a great service? Do you enjoy a fast-paced, varied role where you can make a real difference? If so, we would love to hear from you.

You will work alongside, manage and support our small, friendly Hub Support Team. You will oversee our mailbox, admin processes, administrative tasks, the development of the IT systems and provide support and supervision to the team. Responding to a range of enquiries, you will enjoy dealing people both in person and online. You will be a genuine team player and able to juggle the competing demands of day-to-day reactive work alongside more proactive work.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person, who can manage competing priorities, support a team and work to deadlines. The post will involve a requirement to work with sensitive information, with a high degree of discretion.

As Receptionist you will act as the first point of contact, providing a friendly and professional service to all callers and visitors. At Capability Scotland, Fife Services we support adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and sensory impairment, to live independently within their own homes and small residential services in Dunfermline, Rosyth and Glenrothes. Our days are filled with laughter, with a focus on activities, on-site and externally. From football or shopping day trips to motor sports, our service prides itself on being customer led.

Our closeknit team of Team Leaders, help our support staff to provide 24-hour support 7 days a week, and they require a motivated and enthusiastic leader to join the team.

About the Role

You will be required to co-ordinate and supervise a team of support staff in delivering a high standard of social care practice using a person-centred approach that reflects individual customer's needs wants and aspirations. As a Team Leader you will occasionally work on the floor delivering direct care including medication administration, personal care and moving and assisting. Meaning it’s not all about paperwork, you still get some hands on practice.

A key part of this role is to coach, monitor, mentor and develop the skill base within the staff team, you will do this by displaying Leadership skills such as role modelling, decision making, being an effective communicator, having a positive attitude, commitment and confidence in the role.

What you need to know:

Hours:We have a set shift pattern, 36 hours rotational, typically, Mon to Fri 9am to 4pm with an early shift one week, a late shift the next week and a working on call weekend approximately every 4th week. Which is planned in advance, enabling you to plan life outside of work responsibilities.

Location:Office address is - Units 4 & 16 John Smith Business Park, 1 Begg Road, Kirkcaldy, KY2 6HD - services are based in Dunfermline, Rosyth & Glenrothes.

Other: A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role. This role does NOT qualify for skilled worker visa.

Capability Scotland has supported people with disabilities to live fulfilling lives since 1946. We're a leading Scottish charity offering residential care, care-at-home, housing support, and education. We're passionate about inclusive, person-centred services.

Wallace Court is a residential service in Elderslie, Johnstone, has 20 individual, fully accessible apartments. Our established team provides 24 hour support 7 days a week, to customers aged between 18 and 65 with complex health, physical and learning disabilities.

The Role

As Service Manager, you'll ensure people we support receive high quality, person-centred care. You'll lead and support a multidisciplinary team - Team Leaders, care staff, administrators, housekeeping and maintenance staff - while overseeing budget, facilities, transport, compliance, risk, investigations and service development.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer-focused care:Manage referrals, liaise with Social Work/local authorities, oversee care plans, medication protocols, customer finances, and maintain strong relationships with customers and families .
• Team leadership:Recruit, plan rotas, ensure adequate training, conduct performance/appraisal meetings, and manage staffing issues—including disciplinary and absence procedures .
• Financial & operational management:Contribute to budget prep, review management accounts, authorise expenditure, oversee asset replacement & petty cash.
• Facilities & transport:Ensure safe, well-maintained facilities and reliable transport services.
• Regulatory compliance:Stay up-to-date with legislation and Care Inspectorate standards, coordinate inspections and statutory returns .
• Service growth:Promote and develop the service; engage with stakeholders to identify new opportunities and prepare business cases.
• Risk & investigations:Oversee risk assessments and lead any investigations as required .

Person Specification

• Qualifications:SVQ 4 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) plus relevant management qualification .
• Experience:Strong background in social care or related services, with proven leadership and management skills. Experience in residential care services is preferred.
• Skills:Excellent communication, financial literacy, planning and organisational skills, and ability to foster a supportive team environment.
