Senior Community Development Coordinator

  • Remote: Flexible homeworking. Some travel around Scotland is required.

  • 3 days per week (21 hours), with flexible hours by agreement. There are some evening and weekend events or presentations. Access to a car and a driving licence is required, with mileage reimbursement in accordance with the charity’s travel policy.

Role

SupportED is the leading community eating disorder charity in Scotland and supports people with eating disorders, their carers and families in a growing number of geographical areas across Scotland,

The charity recruits, trains and supports volunteers who facilitate support groups for people with eating disorders and carers and has also has a growing 1 to 1 telephone befriending service Carers Training and support and access to Counselling .

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated and well organised self-starter with skills and experience of community engagement, marketing and events and a passion for helping others. Full training will be given, and ongoing development and support provided.

The ability to attract, train, supervise and lead volunteers is essential and a good understanding of eating disorders and/or related mental health conditions is desirable.

For this post it is essential to have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. PVG Scheme Membership is a requirement
