Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Lanarkshire to be part of a team working in partnership with Action For Children, Home-Start and Impact Arts to provide a universal whole family support service across North Lanarkshire.

We are hiring family workers to provide outreach support using individual and group activities to children, young people and families across the Locality.

The aim of the service is to enable families to access help at the earliest possible time, ensuring a no wrong door approach.

Referrals may be received from anywhere in North Lanarkshire including self-referrals and referrals from family members. In order to break down barriers to receiving support, the service will operate 7 days a week with an evening provision on offer.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support families to identify needs and gaps and develop plans to meet these needs. You should be highly motivated and flexible in your approach and have an awareness of the issues impacting children, young people and families across North Lanarkshire.

These posts will be 37 hours per week, but we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work part time or full-time hours. You must have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends and hold a valid driving license with access to own transport for the purposes of work.

As part of our commitment, we will offer you excellent learning and development opportunities, competitive flexible annual leave and bank holidays, pension scheme, access to employee assistance programmes such as counselling and life assurance. We embrace the diversity of our workforce encouraging all cultural celebrations to be promoted and observed within the workplace.

Pay & Reward Framework

We know that our colleagues go above and beyond in delivering our vital work, driven by their passion and commitment to Barnardo's values. We also know that we can only realise our ambitions and achieve better outcomes for more children, thanks to the talent, hard work and creativity of our people.

For all these reasons, we are committed to a new approach to pay and reward, to ensure it is fair, attractive and progressive, which was rolled out in April 2023. This is a positive change for the charity, and a part of our People & Culture Strategy. It will assist us in supporting colleagues to belong, thrive and grow in their colleague journey at Barnardo's and in time will offer clear routes of progression for colleagues in both their career and their pay.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band – this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours. More details on Barnardo's pay framework can be found upon application.
