The service office is based in the Fraserburgh Office. Working closely with the Service Manager, the Service Co-Ordinator will assist with the day to day co-ordination of the service in Aberdeen and Dundee, in accordance with service specifications, all legal requirements and the national Codes of Practice for Social Care Workers and Employers.
If you're caring, compassionate, and possess a variety of life skills and experiences, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact in your community. The support work you will be co-ordinating and sometimes carry out is care at home, respite and children services.
What we need:
- An SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 6 and be willing to work towards SCQF level 9 or SCQF level 7 and PDA in Health and Social Care Supervision.
- Considerable experience of delivering care, assessment, care planning and review.
- Experience of supervising a team in a social care setting or similar setting is desirable
- Flexibility is essential, offering you the chance to balance your work and personal commitments.
- A requirement to participate in the service on call rota, for which an additional payment is made.

- A driving licence is essential, and mileage is paid at 45p per mile.

The role
Shared Care Scotland is seeking an inspiring and strategic leader to join their team as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will collaborate closely with the Senior Management and Board of Directors to lead a dedicated team committed to enhancing the provision of short breaks across Scotland. The role requires a commitment to the organisation’s vision and values, proven leadership skills and management experience, and the ability to build alliances and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
The person
The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a proven track record in strategic leadership and senior management within a not-for-profit or similar organisation. They will have high integrity, resilience, empathy, and a collaborative leadership style that fosters a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. In addition, they will possess a deep understanding of Scotland's health and social care sector and related legislation, and knowledge and experience of implementing governance best practices, including financial, legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications and knowledge:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree such as Social Work, Community Development, Youth Work. Equivalent qualification or five years’ experience at a senior level.
- Understanding of Human Rights, the UNCRC and Children’s Rights and the needs of diverse individuals and communities,
- Knowledge of the policy and practice areas of the social care sector in Scotland, including SSSC, Care Inspectorate and the new National Care Service.
- While we would welcome the knowledge gathered through a relevant qualification, we are just as interested in relevant work experience.
- Demonstrable continuing professional development in relevant areas
- Full Driving License and a suitable vehicle for work with business insurance.
Experience
- Experience of leading, motivating and building teams through times of change.
- Experience of the social care sector in Scotland, including the policy landscape affecting local authorities, health boards, health,and social care partnerships.

Working hours
35 hours per week subject to organisational needs. Some work may have to be undertaken outside office hours, including evenings and weekends.

Assistant Service Co-ordinator

Are you ready to elevate your expertise to a managerial level?
We are a large service supporting over 50 adults with a learning and/or physical disability and/or mental health diagnosis. We support people in their own homes across 17 sites which are either individual or shared tenancies to achieve their personal outcomes in all areas of their lives including tenancy, health, relationships and meaningful activities. Most people are supported over a 24 hour period including sleepovers and staff work to a rota tailored to the people we support’s individual needs. We also have an inclusion service where we facilitate various activities.
Our work is commission via the relevant Local Authority Learning Disability Teams. We have good links with the teams including OTs, nursing, physiotherapy and social work. Our service is registered with the Care Inspectorate as a dual registration – Care at Home and Housing with Support. All of our staff are all registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Our management team consists of a Service Manager, a Practice and Improvement Manager, four Service Co-ordinators and 7 Assistant Service Co-ordinators. We also have a dedicated admin team.

As a new first-line manager, it is crucial to grasp the fundamental requirements of a social care service and the needs of the individuals we support. You will be guided by a skilled and approachable management team while leading your own team(s). Your duties will include working at different locations in Renfrewshire, covering various shifts, including enhanced rate sleepovers. You will also have dedicated admin time.
