SWAN is an autistic-led Charity run for and by autistic women, girls and non-binary people across Scotland.

The post holder will deliver a range of neuro-affirming services and support for autistic women and non-binary people, as well as training and workshops for professionals and allies wishing to develop their knowledge and understanding of autistic people.

The postholder will have at least 2 years’ relevant experience (e.g. group facilitation, 1-2-1 support, peer support, training delivery and/or working with autistic people or other marginalised communities).

For this Lived Experience role, it is essential that the Project Worker is autistic (by formal diagnosis or self-identified). You will need to be comfortable with openly disclosing and discussing related experiences in group and open online sessions, public and professional meetings and in a training context.

SWAN is a small but very active Charity, so multitasking, time management skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks and function well at busy times are key. The role is interesting and varied and there are opportunities to develop the post in line with your strengths and skills.

The Young Women’s Movement is Scotland's national organisation for young women and girls' leadership and rights: working collectively, leading meaningful change and creating a more equal society. Our Programme Worker will work directly with young women and girls to create safe spaces and equip them with skills and confidence to lead change on issues that matter to them, supporting them to amplify their voices in their communities and in decision-making spaces.

This role will support the planning and delivery of a wide range of programmes using a youth work approach, both in-person in schools, communities and further education settings and online and will work hard to extend our reach to even more young women and girls.

Committed to Ending Abuse (CEA) is seeking a Children and Young People’s Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate to join our existing team.

The post holder will carry a case load of those clients who are at risk of abuse and trauma and in need of advocacy support in relation to issues such as parental contact with the abusing parent, Children’s Hearings and other relevant interventions in which they need support.

The post holder will work supporting children and young people, providing safety planning, practical, and emotional and signposting support.

Applicants will have the ability to engage with children and young people, establishing relationships, eliciting views and aspirations so that children and young people’s views are accurately represented.

Preferred candidates will have wide ranging knowledge and experience of both Advocacy and Domestic Abuse/Trauma. Advocacy will take place at an individual, community and institutional level.

The post is based in our premises at Wellside Place in Falkirk and will commence as soon as possible. The post holder will require successful PVG clearance and will be expected to work closely with the adult and children/young person’s team. The post will be managed within our Stage 3 Community Services.

Please note that all annual leave must be taken during Falkirk Council school holidays as the post-holder must be available during term time to meet with children and young people.

The post holder ideally be a bilingual speaker in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Arabic or other BME community language.

The applicant ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with Black Minority Ethnic (BME) communities. Must have good knowledge and understanding of equalities issues and the issues affecting BME and/ or LGBT women, children, and young people; understanding of the legislative and cultural issues surrounding domestic abuse, honour-based abuse such as forced marriage and female genital mutilation, and their effects on Black Minority Ethnic women, their children, and young people.

The applicant must have a minimum of SVQ Level III in Social Care or relevant qualification such as degree in Social Work or Community Education. All the above posts involve unsocial and flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
