Role

Several posts across our Lanarkshire Projects.

New Year, new opportunity. Do you fancy a change and want to join our generous, helpful and happy team of advocacy workers within an established, innovative and welcoming organisation? If you are interested in speaking up for and with people who are marginalised or unheard, please read on.

Equal Say has been providing advocacy for people with disabilities since 1995. We want to recruit new workers for our projects in South & North Lanarkshire working mainly with people using Self-Directed Support (SDS), based in our Wishaw office. This post is funded through the Scottish Government SDS implementation strategy until April 2027.

If you have knowledge or experience of any of the following, we want to hear from you:

  • Providing advocacy or representation to marginalised people
  • Experience of working with Self Directed Support
  • Experience of casework in a community setting
  • Autonomous working within a small team
  • A passion for inclusion and social justice

Don’t be put off if you feel you don’t have experience of every single competency we ask for, we will be flexible and supportive to the right candidates. We offer a comprehensive induction and ongoing learning and development opportunities.

This post is subject to membership of the PVG scheme and suitable references. As the post covers the whole local authority area, a driver with access to a car is essential for this role.
