We are seeking a new Manager for our Foodbank, established by Kirkintilloch Baptist Church in 2013. We are part of the Trussell Trust Network. A Christian ethos is central to the work of the Foodbank as this is a key outreach ministry in our church. The Foodbank has four centres located within the pockets of East Dunbartonshire that are affected most by food poverty. There are currently 5 other part-time members of staff and approximately 80 volunteers from diverse backgrounds. Are you the person to head up this amazing team?

We are looking for someone with vision and enthusiasm who can work with us to enable, support, and grow our existing Christian ministry with young people in the church, local schools, and within the wider community; and to explore new potential for outreach, both in person and online.
JOB CONTEXT – ABOUT STRATHENDRICK BAPTIST CHURCH (SBC)
SBC is a small and informal church in the heart of rural Stirlingshire, meeting in Balfron village hall. We have around 50 regular attendees with around 20 of those being children and teenagers, from Balfron and many of the surrounding villages. It was founded around 35 years ago, has never had a formal ‘minister’, and is led by a team of volunteer men and women who jointly take responsibility for the life of the church.
SBC is a community of believers who value loving and serving each other in day-to-day life. Our vision is to be a Spirit-filled and empowered witnessing community, based on Acts 1:8. We believe that relationships are key to developing opportunities to share the Gospel and as adults seek opportunities in daily life to do so. However, we are acutely aware that our young people need discipleship and encouragement in their own faith in order to be confident to share it with others. We also have wide open opportunities within our local school (the High School for the whole rural area is located in Balfron) and community, yet at present do not have the capacity to do the many things that we feel God is calling us to do.

About you and the role
We are recruiting a Fundraising & Partnerships Manager to join our multi-disciplinary team in Edinburgh to lead the delivery of our business development and fundraising strategies, supporting our ambition to increase the volume of specialist support, training and spot purchased assessments we provide for social work, charities and child facing agencies. Working with the director, you will help develop and sustain appropriate strategic partnerships and identify opportunities for development, reviewing resource implications, risk, income potential and likelihood of success.
You will also work closely with our Fundraising Manager, based in our Epsom office, leading on charitable income generation through writing bids that directly apply for funds from a range of bodies. Developing effective and impactful methods to report on the impact of our services and relationship management with funders is a key part of this role.
This exciting role will play a big part in supporting our efforts to shift the discourse about child sexual abuse ‘upstream’ so that professionals and the public understand in practical terms what they can do to prevent sexual abuse before it happens. We believe our work can only build and grow and lead to the better protection of children from harm through developing our partnerships across a range of sectors (education, social work, leisure services, law enforcement, Scottish government, third sector, safeguarding leads in faith and belief communities, business and corporate sectors, etc), The successful candidate will need to be a good communicator who is committed to the concept of child sexual abuse as a preventable public health issue.
Our ideal candidate will be a dynamic professional who is proactive and outcome focused with exceptional communication and relationship skills. We are looking for someone who can develop knowledge of national and local policy and strategy within the external environment to inform business development, influence potential commissioners and where appropriate, co-design services with agencies. An understanding of tendering and public contracts will be an advantage.

About you and the role
We are recruiting a practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team in Edinburgh to lead our work with children, young people and young adults up to the age of 21.
You will head up our flagship project working with high schools in Edinburgh promoting the prevention of harmful sexual behaviour in an educational context. This includes running workshops for parents on how they can promote positive and healthy relational and sexual development. It will include helping teachers respond sensitively and effectively to early concerns about children’s sexual behaviour. And it will involve working with young people themselves to help develop a curriculum that actively promotes prevention of sexual harm. You will work with our research team to help establish evaluation methods for all aspects of this project and to develop a scaleable model of prevention that can be rolled out across all schools, better protecting children from harm. You will work closely with our UK based Schools Project Manager who will support all aspects of this project.
You will also have a small caseload, working with young people who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour online. You will contribute to training, consultation and policy work in relation to tackling youth perpetrated sexual abuse. It’s a wide ranging and exciting role, and we will be able to support and train the successful candidate in all aspects of our work. You will be supported by our UK based young people’s team.
Our ideal candidate will be a dynamic practitioner with a proven ability to drive projects to achieve required outcomes. You will be professional, proactive and outcome-focused with exceptional communication and engagement skills and an ability to develop partnership ways of working with professionals and agencies. The role requires expert knowledge in relation to working with children who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour and significant experience with supporting and advising leaders, child care professionals, young people and parents. You will have an impeccable understanding of child protection policies and principles and evidence of working with safeguarding partners to keep children safe from harm. A track record of providing consultancy and training to other professionals is desirable.
You will be able to demonstrate confidence in translating the charity’s mission into direct child protection practice and equipping other professionals in tackling child sexual abuse.
