BEFS Communications Lead will drive the communication activities of the organisation. Working closely with the Board, Director, and team, and communicating with our Member organisations, the post holder will be responsible for managing the breadth of the organisation’s (digital) communications channels. Adopting a proactive cross-sectoral approach, the post holder will play a key role in maintaining and raising BEFS profile with policy makers, the sector, and wider stakeholders.

Responsibilities, supported by the team, range from being the strategic lead for the organisation’s communications, to content creation and design.

In our 20th year we are seeking the right individual – with an excellent turn of phrase, and an eye for detail – to fit into a small, friendly team.

The Communications Lead will be involved in all aspects of BEFS newly funded NLHF project which develops BEFS governance, BEFS strategic framework development, BEFS equalities, diversity and inclusion (EDI) offer for the sector (and internal training) – as well as related events and workshops.

Person specification

Applicants should be confident communicators with strong written and inter-personal skills, and experience of using a wide range of communication methods (which have a focus on digital), including websites, social media, news releases, and press liaison.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the key issues affecting the existing and historic environment, with knowledge of the main players and lead organisations in the wider built environment sector.

Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF) is Scotland’s national resource of expertise on drugs and related issues. We seek to lead and represent the drugs field in Scotland to improve Scotland’s response to problem drug use. We are pleased to be recruiting for this position of Coordination and Development Officer to drive forward the growth and development of SDF’s Recovery Worker Training Programme (RWTP) in Highland, at an exciting time of growth and change for the employability workstream in SDF.

This post will work to ensure that people with lived and living experience of drug and alcohol problems are sufficiently represented in drug and alcohol service delivery across the Highland geography.

The Co-ordination and Development Officer will grow an existing small network of stakeholders across Highland to support the project - placement providers (drug, alcohol, and social care agencies), employability partners, and education providers, to support and deliver the project outcomes.

With support from the Senior Development Officer, the role will also seek to establish multiple entry and employment pathways across Highland, in and out of RWTP.

This post is a key part of our Employability Support Team in SDF and will contribute towards the wider work of the team.

The Phoenix is a Community Hub in Dumbarton West, it was set up in 2018 by Rock Community Church. The Rock is a vibrant church community serving Dumbarton and the surrounding area. The Phoenix is designed to primarily serve the people of Dumbarton West, namely the residents of Castlehill, Westcliff, and Brucehill. Purpose of role:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Adult Learning Worker to support our activities programme working with the community, partners and the Phoenix Team.

You will help support Volunteer recruitment identifying training and learning needs putting together an annual syllabus of learning opportunities.

You will consult with our local community to identify opportunities for Dumbarton West to access opportunities to learn new skills and support the development of a users forum who will help implement the results of our consultation.

Key Responsibilities

● To support Volunteer recruitment, identifying training, learning needs and creating an annual syllabus of learning opportunities.

● Consulting with the local community around training, employability and learning needs.

● To develop a users forum who will lead our community consultation, implementing their recommendations for our activity programme.

● Delivering adult learning courses and stand alone sessions.

● Developing links with third party organisations who can provide elements of adult learning programmes.

● Develop links with local residents who can offer their skills and knowledge to the learning calendar.

● Undertake training as required.

Building Funding Capacity Programme

CEMVO Scotland has an exciting new opportunity to be part of a programme that is making a difference to the Ethnic Minority (EM) third sector. We are working in partnership with The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF), to build the funding capability of the sector. As part of the programme, in the first year, we distributed around £142 000. For the next two years we will be distributing £400 000 a year. Working as a team, your role will be to help manage the Ethnic Minority Development Fund, provide one to one funding support to EM organisations as well as capture learning and share intelligence about the sector with the TNLCF.

Main Purpose of the job

To provide funding capacity building support to the EM (ethnic minority) third sector organisations and community groups across Scotland.

Provide support to organisations applying for the Ethnic Minority Development Fund (EM-DF) managed by CEMVO Scotland on behalf of The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF).

Manage the Knowledge and Learning Network space to encourage collaboration, intelligence gathering and mutual learning between TNLCF and the EM third sector.
