This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in CHAS’s More Than a Hospice Appeal - an ambitious,
once-in-a-generation campaign to change the future of care for children who will die young.
We are looking for a driven and ambitious individual to develop new fundraising opportunities and supporter
relationships, growing income from communities across the East of Scotland and helping to deliver the Appeal’s
ambitious goals.
Purpose
You will identify and build relationships with individuals, schools, local groups and small businesses across the
East of Scotland, helping people connect with CHAS and feel confident fundraising for the More Than a Hospice
Appeal.
You will spot new opportunities, develop partnerships, and create engaging fundraising products and resources that
make it easy for communities to get involved and generate income. You will also support community-based events
and initiatives that increase both income and awareness, helping supporters understand that the Appeal is about
more than buildings: it is about choice, dignity and care for families, wherever they are - at home, in hospital
or in a hospice.
You will also inspire people to get involved by recruiting, training and developing volunteers. Working alongside the
Community Fundraising team, you will help build sustainable, community-led fundraising with long-term
impact.
Where does the role sit?
Reporting to the Community Fundraising Manager, you will be part of the Community Fundraising team and play an
important role in growing support across the East of Scotland and delivering the ambition of the More Than a
Hospice Appeal.
About you
To successfully drive fundraising and support for CHAS, you will work cooperatively with colleagues, build meaningful
relationships, demonstrate initiative, act with integrity and be accountable for your actions and
decisions.
You will also have:
- Experience of building new relationships and networks that grow income or support.
- Experience of
delivering community fundraising activity, such as campaigns, events or local initiatives with the
organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation
skills, with the ability to adapt your style for different audiences and share fundraising messages in an
engaging way.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Experience of recruiting, training and
supporting volunteers, matching tasks to people’s strengths and helping volunteers feel valued, confident and
well supported.
- Strong administrative skills and confidence using systems or customer relationship
management databases, with a clear understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
Please note that a driving licence and access to a car will be essential for this role. There will be a regular
requirement to transport yourself and materials as well as cash between CHAS sites, community sites and
events.
