Role

Delivery and Partnerships Our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) provides strategic leadership for TSDG. This role sits within that space providing senior leadership for all our thematic and sector support work across the region. This role reports to our Chief Executive and line manages thematic Lead Officers – Community Transport, Health and Wellbeing, Children, Young People and Families, Employability, and Community and Sector Support. It is peer-supported by the other members of the SLT: our Head of Resources and Development and our Head of Communications and Impact.

What You'll Do

We are looking for an experienced senior leader to join TSDG as it enters its next chapter. As Third Sector Interface for Dumfries and Galloway, we work with the sector, partners and communities to address key local priorities, build capacity and maximise investment in our region. Internally, you will lead our thematic and sector support teams, ensuring accountability for performance, delivery and impact on our communities. Externally, you will represent TSDG in key partnerships across Dumfries and Galloway, the south of Scotland and nationally, making sure the voice of the third sector is heard where decisions are made.

  • Provide senior leadership, direction and support for all TSDG thematic and sector support teams, working with Lead Officers to assure the CEO that our commitments to funders and partners will be met.
  • Further define, grow and embed Collective working and Place-based working across Dumfries and Galloway, maximising the impact of the sector and of our own teams.
  • Refine and oversee our Volunteering and Sector Training strategies, ensuring a cohesive offer to the sector across our thematic and sector support teams.
  • Work with Lead Officers to secure continuation and expansion funding as opportunities arise, including funding to re-start our Social Enterprise network (SEDG).
  • Oversee and assure plans that build capacity within third sector organisations across Dumfries and Galloway, ensuring the same level of support is received across the region.
  • Work with colleagues in Business Support and Communications and Impact to assure high-quality end of grant reporting, impact reporting and external publications in support of the sector.
  • Represent TSDG in key external partnerships, including the Community Planning Partners Senior Leadership Team and the Strategic Planning Group, and with partners such as Dumfries and Galloway Council, NHS and South of Scotland Enterprise, to ensure the best possible representation of the sector.
  • Provide strategic oversight of our Lead Officers’ and representatives’ participation in partnerships, ensuring they are trained and informed so that TSDG’s participation is active and impactful.
  • Contribute community involvement, insights and evidence to the Dumfries and Galloway Local Outcomes Improvement Plan (LOIP) and other regional plans and strategies.
  • Lead and support colleagues with empathy, accountability and integrity, line managing your direct reports effectively and managing delegated decisions and budgets.
  • Contribute thoughtfully to strategic discussions and decisions as part of the SLT, and support colleagues across TSDG to deliver our joint outcomes, in line with our values.

More about you
