One Community Scotland is looking to recruit new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the organisation through its next exciting stage of development.

Whether you have served on a charity board before or this would be your first trustee role, we would love to hear from you. We provide full information, ongoing support and governance training to help every trustee succeed.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience or knowledge in Human Resources *(HR) to strengthen the skills of our Board. However, we also welcome applications from people with expertise in organisation development, research, education, communications, digital technology, fundraising, marketing or the wider third sector.

About One Community Scotland

One Community Scotland is an award-winning, youth-led charity that supports young people aged 14-24 from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, with a particular focus on those settling as New Scots in Scotland.

We believe every young person should have the opportunity to feel safe, valued and empowered to achieve their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Working alongside young people, families and communities, we help remove barriers to inclusion and create opportunities that enable young people to thrive.

Our programmes support young people to:

The Role

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of One Community Scotland.

Working collectively, trustees ensure the charity remains focused on its charitable purposes, complies with the requirements of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), and continues to provide effective support for young people and their families.

Our Board works closely with a dedicated and experience staff team, providing support, challenge and strategic guidance while ensuring good governance and accountability.

We’re Looking for People Who:

We are looking for Trustees who will bring enthusiasm, commitment and a genuine willingness to actively contribute to the work and development of One Community Scotland.

A key attribute for us is being a keen and active contributor. Being a Trustee is more than attending Board meetings. We are looking for people who are willing to engage with the organisation, participate in discussions, ask questions, contribute ideas, share their knowledge and experience, and play an active role in helping us achieve our strategic aims.

You will ideally:

· Share our passion for supporting young people and creating positive change.

· Can think strategically and contribute to good decision-making,

· Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team.

· Are committed to equality, inclusion and community empowerment.

· Can act with integrity, discretion and confidentiality.

· Are willing to share their skills and experience to help the organisation grow

Experience in Human Resources would be particularly valuable, but enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to contribute are just as important.

No Previous Trustee Experience?

Many of our current trustees joined the Board without previous governance experience.

We believe diverse perspectives strengthen our Board, and we welcome applications from people who may be taking on a trustee role for the first time.

Access to governance training, and ongoing mentoring will be provided, ensuring you have the knowledge and confident to fulfil the role effectively.

You do not need to have all the answers. What matters is that you are willing to listen, learn, contribute and work collectively with other Trustees and the staff team.

Join our board and help shape an intergenerational Scotland Generations Working Together (GWT) is seeking to appoint two committed, proactive and passionate volunteer Trustees to join our Board at a particularly exciting time for intergenerational work. With the Global Intergenerational Congress coming to Glasgow in 2026, alongside our Global and National Excellence Awards taking place this year, GWT is at the forefront of celebrating and advancing intergenerational practice across Scotland and beyond.

We are recruiting the following:

• a Co-Vice Chair role– succeeding a long-standing Trustee stepping down after nine years and
• a Trustee position to strengthen the Board

We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who bring experience of working with or alongside older people, and who can help ensure strong representation of older voices within our governance.

About the role

We are looking for Trustees with experience in the voluntary, public or private sector who are motivated to contribute strategically to a growing national organisation. You will share our passion for building strong, connected communities across different generations.

We are especially interested in individuals with skills or experience in:

• Human Resources (including organisational development, workforce planning, or learning & development)
• Policy and influencing
• Marketing, communications and audience development
• Strategic leadership or organisational management
• Housing, place-based working or community development
• Environment / climate and regenerative practice
• Work relating to older people

What you will bring

• Our Trustees:
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight
• Act as ambassadors for intergenerational work
• Support the development of GWT’s corporate plan and future direction
• Contribute expertise through Board discussions and occasional task groups

We welcome applications from people who are enthusiastic, dependable and collaborative, and who are keen to contribute their skills to a purpose-driven organisation.

Commitment

Trustees are appointed for up to two x three-year terms (with potential extension).

The role typically involves:

• 4 Board meetings per year (hybrid/online, early evening)
• Annual General Meeting- Wed 11th Nov 2026, 12noon – 1pm
• 1 annual development session (in person, Glasgow – Sat 28th November, 10am – 4pm)

Optional attendance at key events including:

• Global Intergenerational Congress (Glasgow, 29 Sept– 1st Oct 2026)
• Global Intergenerational Week (24-30th April 2027)

As a small charity, Trustees may also contribute between meetings through sub-groups or specific projects aligned to their expertise.

About Generations Working Together

Generations Working Together is the nationally recognised centre of excellence supporting the development and integration of intergenerational work across Scotland. Our mission is to develop, expand and improve IG practice nationwide. Our vision is to live in a Scotland where different generations are more connected, where everyone has opportunities to build relationships that help to create a more inclusive society.

Intergenerational work means relationship-based projects, activities and events where people of different generations, who might not otherwise meet, do things together in positive and creative ways. It includes any activities which purposefully ignore, remove or break down social, environmental, cultural or institutional barriers between generations e.g. ageism, making spaces for older & younger people to meet naturally, get to know each other, share ideas, pass on &/or learn new skills, work together to identify solutions to problems, addressing challenges in their communities, all the while forging relationships and friendships.

An intergenerational lens can also be applied to the workplace which can now have up to five generational cohorts within. Organisations are considering the impact of this and are questioning whether they have the right policies, processes and ethos in place to support their diverse expectations. Applying an intergenerational lens to the workplace provides an opportunity to consider the benefits that come from diverse generational groups.

As a membership and capacity-building organisation, GWT operate locally and nationally raising awareness, sharing and expanding knowledge and understanding of intergenerational practice and its impact. We provide training and wide-ranging resources and organise learning events and facilitate local and thematic networking opportunities, to enable high quality intergenerational activity to take root on the ground & flourish. GWT lead and deliver pilot projects to support and encourage the development and delivery of intergenerational practice in new settings. We also participate in research projects and scan relevant research taking place across the world for distilling and sharing with our members and others.

Ricefield Arts & Cultural Centre is a registered charity and social enterprise for the exploration and promotion of Chinese culture and has an excellent reputation for delivering original and inspiring creative experiences, cultural events and workshops to community groups, public institutions and arts audiences around Scotland.

We are currently looking to appoint a Treasurer to join our small Board. The Treasurer will be responsible for managing all financial matters on behalf of our organisation and will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation has robust financial processes to ensure it meets its legal and constitutional requirements. It will also be the responsibility of the Treasurer to report the financial position at the board meetings. While we encourage and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, we are keen to hear from candidates that have experience of charity financial management or are chartered in a suitable accountancy field.

All Trustees are required to attend monthly board meetings, either at our office located in the heart of Glasgow city centre or via Zoom. In addition, we ask Trustees to attend our annual board development day, important meetings with stakeholders and some events and projects, where possible. As Ricefield Arts is a social enterprise, the role also involves serving as our Board of Directors.

Please note that this is a voluntary role. Neither the Trustees nor Board of Directors receive any remuneration, however, travel expenses incurred in carrying out board duties will be fully reimbursed.

Other than the Treasurer, we also wish to appoint additional Trustee(s) with community engagement or cultural events management experience to serve our Board. Please check our website for more information.

Glasgow North East Carers Centre has been providing practical and emotional support to unpaid family carers for over 30 years, including Young Carers and their families. Our work helps carers feel supported, connected and empowered, enabling them to continue their vital role within our communities.

We are currently seeking new members to join our Board of Directors and help guide the future direction of the organisation. We are particularly keen to strengthen the Board with individuals who can contribute expertise in fundraising, financial management and income generation

As a Board Director, you will play an important role in setting our strategic priorities, ensuring good governance, and providing oversight and guidance on organisational policies and performance. Working alongside fellow Board members, you will help ensure the Centre remains sustainable, effective and responsive to the needs of unpaid carers.

Our current Board brings together a diverse range of skills, perspectives and experience from across the public, private, third sectors and those with direct experience of caring.

While previous Board experience is welcome, it is not essential. We are looking for people who share our commitment to supporting unpaid carers and who can bring enthusiasm, insight and professional experience to our work.

This is a voluntary but highly rewarding role, offering the opportunity to:

• Make a meaningful difference to the lives of unpaid carers and their families
• Contribute to the strategic development of a respected local charity
• Develop valuable governance, leadership and decision-making skills
