Venture Scotland offers a long-term, outdoor-based personal development programme which empowers young people aged 16-30, and people in addiction recovery, who face complex and difficult challenges in their lives, to create and sustain change.
We focus on the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of our participants, working with them both in group and 1-2-1 settings, to make lasting changes in their lives and help them play a positive role in their communities.
We are seeking an Outreach and Support Worker who identifies with our values of Trust, Respect, Belonging, Empowering and Compassion to work alongside our partners Move On and Elevate, to recruit and support a diverse range of people from the Glasgow recovery community into and through our Venture On To Recovery programmes.
This role will include building on our existing network of referral partners working with young people aged 16-30, to allow us, in the future, to recruit and support a diverse range of people into and through our young people’s programmes and delivering our Next Steps programme to support young people into positive destinations.
The role will also include building a network of local referrers, public speaking to interested groups, staff teams and funders, presenting our programmes in engaging and creative ways to people interested in joining our programmes and supporting them on their journey with Venture Scotland and beyond. You’ll also get a chance to get out and experience our outdoor activities alongside our groups.

Youth Scotland’s Youth Awards recognise and accredit young people’s learning and achievement through community-based youth work, schools and a wide range of partner organisations.
Following a significant period of growth and development, including refreshed Youth Achievement Awards and investment in new digital systems and services, we are moving into the next phase of development. This new post will play an important role in consolidating these developments, supporting our Awards users and partners, and
ensuring our systems and services continue to evolve in response to their needs.
We are looking for an Awards Development Worker (Systems and Services) who can build strong relationships with a wide range of Awards users and partners, provide highquality support, and help us continue to improve and develop our services.
You will work with local authorities, national charities, schools, community-based youth groups and other Awards providers, helping organisations to use Youth Scotland Awards effectively and using their feedback and experience to inform future development.
Alongside this, you will have a particular focus on our digital Awards systems, data and reporting, online resources and service improvement.
This role would suit someone who is confident working with people and partnerships, has strong digital and organisational skills, and enjoys finding practical ways to improve services and the experience of the people who use them. You will also share our commitment to recognising and celebrating young people’s achievements and helping ensure their learning and development is valued.

Youth Scotland is the largest national youth work organisation in Scotland, supporting 116,979 young people, 2,430 youth groups from 628 member organisations and over 12,348 youth workers. The Junction is an award-winning charity in North East Edinburgh that supports and improves young people’s health and wellbeing.
Last year, we supported more than 1,800 young people and supported around 150 young people through one-to-one support. As a result of the service:

- 88% felt more able to cope with difficult situations
- 94% reduced or stopped substance use or learned how to reduce harm associated.

Within this role you will champion youth participation, ensuring that young people have a genuine voice in shaping both our services and the wider development of the organisation. You will build and maintain strong relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders, helping to strengthen The Junction’s reputation and reach.
You will lead and support a dedicated team of Project Workers, fostering a collaborative, reflective, and supportive working environment where staff and volunteers can thrive. Alongside this, you will take organisational responsibility for safeguarding as The Junction’s Child Protection Officer, ensuring the highest standards of practice and compliance.

- Experience of supervising and managing others to deliver high-quality services
