A vacancy has arisen for a Children’s Wellbeing & Development Workers at the Cottage Family Centre. You will have a range of experience working with children and knowledge of issues affecting families with young children.

You will have an ability to work creatively with play resources in order to provide young children with high-quality nurturing experiences within our playroom settings. You are also required to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and flexibly within a team.

You will be expected to have experience in a similar role and an HNC in Childhood Practice or HNC in Childcare and Education or SNNEB and/or SVQ 3 Social Services Children and Young People.

The post will be subject to PVG, References and SSSC Registration.

You will be expected to work a minimum of 16 hours per week but also have flexibility to work hours in addition to this where required.

OPFS is the lead partner and accountable body for the Weave Partnership, offering single parent families, and other priority family groups, a single, strengths based plan built around one trusted relationship, on the principle of ‘no wrong door’.

The Weave Project Lead will support the Head of Service (Weave) by leading the operational coordination, implementation and monitoring of the Weave Partnership. The postholder will ensure effective governance, strong partnership working, consistent use of the My Life and Me framework, robust referral and delivery arrangements, clear

evidence of outcomes for families, and high-quality reporting and learning for the Scottish Government, partners and wider networks.

Key responsibilities

Partnership Governance and Operational Accountability

• Lead the day-to-day coordination of Weave Partnership governance arrangements, supporting the Head of Service to ensure the Steering Group, operational delivery structures and partner protocols function effectively.
• Maintain clear action tracking, decision records, escalation routes and accountability mechanisms across OPFS and partner organisations.
• Support the Head of Service in preparing governance reports, briefing papers and updates for senior leaders, funders and partners.

Programme Delivery and Implementation

• Manage implementation of the Weave Partnership delivery plan across target local authority areas and national delivery channels.
• Coordinate delivery activity across in-person, telephone and digital support routes, ensuring services are accessible, joined-up and responsive.
• Monitor progress against milestones, deliverables, risks and dependencies, escalating issues to the Head of Service where required.

My Life and Me framework

• Coordinate implementation of the My Life and Me framework across partner organisations as the shared Whole Family Support planning and outcomes framework.
• Support partners to embed consistent practice, recording, review and reporting arrangements linked to MLAM.
• Support OPFS Heads of Support for Families to embed MLAM across all delivery services.
• Gather evidence that the framework is being used to support strengths-based, familycentred planning and outcome measurement.

Partnership Working and Referral Pathways

• Strengthen warm referral pathways, joint working arrangements and operational coordination between participating organisations.
• Act as a key contact for partners on delivery processes, shared systems, meetings, data collection and operational problem-solving.
• Identify gaps or barriers in partnership working and support practical solutions with the Head of Service and operational leads.

Reaching Priority Families and Reducing Barriers

• Monitor evidence that support is reaching low-income single parent families and families at highest risk of poverty.
• Support partners to extend access for families affected by family breakdown, imprisonment, rurality and other barriers to services.
• Use monitoring data and partner feedback to identify under-reached groups and inform improvements to access and delivery.

Financial Inclusion and Progression Pathways

• Coordinate evidence of family access to income maximisation, welfare rights advice, debt advice, child maintenance support and other financial inclusion interventions.
• Support partners to evidence access to childcare, employability, education and training opportunities.
• Ensure reporting captures how practical support contributes to improved family outcomes and poverty reduction.

Outcomes, Monitoring and Evaluation

• Oversee collection and collation of monitoring, evaluation and learning evidence across the partnership.
• Track outcomes relating to family wellbeing, parental confidence, resilience, relationships, social connectedness and coordinated support.
• Prepare monitoring and learning outputs that demonstrate outcomes achieved, lessons learned and opportunities for wider application of the model.

Learning, Reporting and System Influence

• Support the Head of Service to share evidence and learning with the Scottish Government, funded partners and relevant networks.
• Coordinate learning events, partner reviews and continuous improvement activities.
• Contribute to wider system learning on Whole Family Support, anti-poverty practice and effective partnership delivery.

A bit about the role

As an Employment Facilitator in Inverclyde, you’ll be part of a supportive team delivering high‑quality employability support to young people. Your role is hands‑on, varied and deeply rewarding. You’ll work one‑to‑one with young people to understand their strengths, barriers and aspirations, helping them build confidence and take practical steps toward employment, training or further education.

You’ll design and deliver tailored employability sessions across areas such as Customer Service, Construction, personal development and essential skills. A key part of your role will be creating outcome‑focused action plans, reviewing progress regularly, and providing warm, consistent aftercare to help young people stay motivated and on track.

Working closely with colleagues, local partners and employers, you’ll help young people explore opportunities in the labour market, prepare for interviews, develop workplace behaviours, and gain the skills they need to thrive. You’ll also support them to overcome challenges that may be holding them back, ensuring they feel heard, supported and empowered throughout their journey.

Our Employability Service supports young people aged 16–24 across Inverclyde who are facing barriers to making positive choices about their future. Many of the young people we work with may be struggling to access education, training or employment, or may need extra support to feel confident about their next steps. We provide a welcoming, youth‑centred environment where they can explore opportunities, build essential skills, and develop a sense of direction.

Through personalised programmes, practical activities and strong partnerships with local organisations, we help young people strengthen their motivation, resilience and readiness for the world of work. Whether it’s improving confidence, gaining sector‑specific skills, or understanding what opportunities are available locally, our service is designed to meet each young person where they are and support them to move forward with clarity and confidence.

Some key responsibilities of an Employment Facilitator are;

• Working in line with Action for Children’s standards and professional practice expectations and helping to put these into everyday practice.
• Supporting and coordinating a caseload of young people, offering a range of tailored interventions, whether through group sessions, coordinated activities, or one‑to‑one support, to help them move towards the labour market.
• Delivering engaging group‑work modules that contribute to our wider employability programmes, encouraging inclusion and recognising different learning styles.
• Keeping all compliance requirements up to date and accurate, ensuring we meet the needs of both the organisation and our stakeholders.

Let’s talk about you

We’re open to people joining us from a variety of backgrounds, whether you’re stepping into your first role after gaining a recent qualification or looking to build on experience in youth work, employability or a related field. What matters most is your ability to engage young people, understand their challenges, and support them to move forward with confidence.

• An SVQ Level 3 in Social Care, Guidance or a similar area would be helpful, but we’re equally open to applicants who bring relevant experience instead of a formal qualification.
• Experience working with young people in group settings, particularly those facing multiple barriers, will be really valuable.
• A good understanding of the challenges young people face when trying to access employment, and the motivation to help them overcome these.
• Experience or insight into the Construction or Customer Service sectors would be beneficial, as these are key areas within our employability programmes.
• The ability to build positive relationships, maintain professional boundaries, and create an inclusive, youth‑centred learning environment.

We are excited to welcome a new, confident, passionate and enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator to our team who will support the recruitment and training of our volunteers.

Day-to-day, the Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in creating a positive and inclusive volunteering experience, welcoming and supporting volunteers throughout their journey with the organisation. They will build strong relationships with volunteers, providing effective induction, training, guidance and ongoing support to help them feel confident and valued in their roles. They will identify opportunities to engage, develop, and retain volunteers, ensuring that their skills and experiences are utilised effectively to support families. Working across North Lanarkshire, they will

promote volunteering at events, open days and through social media. They will promote an inclusive volunteering environment, actively seek and respond to volunteer feedback, and support volunteers to contribute to the development and delivery of family support services.

The role is initially funded until 31st March 2027, but with an expectation of multi-year funding thereafter.

• Confident in using IT systems (Microsoft Office, CRM platforms) for monitoring and administration.
